Other than that, best not compare LoP to it.
I agree
Nowadays:
Everything is like stardew valley
Everything is like Phasmophobia
Everything is like Dark Souls
...or the idea was stolen from these games
Many people just compare the games and forget to enjoy the game itself or get to know the mechanics.
First game? You must be new then or just never heard of them before, cause Neowiz have released games before. Bless Online is also from them.
Lies of P definitely takes inspiration from games such as Bloodborne or Sekiro. Bloodborne comparison is even more apt considering you have guard regain mechanic in the game, which is very close to what Bloodborne has. Visuals are also fairly close for these games.
However, Lies of P is its own game that is inspired by genre-defining masterpieces produced by Fromsoft but brings its own ideas to freshen up the formula.
Speaking of gaming in 2023, Lies of P is miles more playable compared to 30 FPS locked Bloodborne that lags and feels horribly sluggish on current gen due to its outdated engine. I would love Sony/Fromsoft to agree on Bloodborne remaster/remake, which would make the comparison more fair for Bloodborne :P
This community is already deep in the addiction of Copium.
We have a ridiculous amount of souls games.
Almost all of it is straight copy+paste
only played Bloodborne on youtube.
LoP can compete with lords of the
fallen(2014) at best, because the
remake, coming this october will wipe the floor with this puppet.
This isn't saying the game feels or plays bad, though. I think it's the most competent non-From Soulslike we've got.
