The final boss is terrible
I'm sad because the boss lineup is nearly perfect but he is the biggest conceivable wet fart to end the game

How is it bad? Is it because he's the only one that's balanced out of the previous combo/aoe spam bosses?

I cant beat him im stuck full strength build and with no poise he just melts me

His first phase has an easy combo for parry that allows you to get a charged hit in afterwards. Second phase try dodging to the front whenever he does that circle thingy move and you can be safe from behind him and get another charge attack it. If you want an edge in damage equip a blunt weapon that has electricity damage then use the amulet that gives you a boost in damage against puppets.

You spend 75% of the second phase sprinting. If that's balanced to you I can see why you consider the earlier bosses spam.

Bruh does it look like I'm sprinting most of this fight? I'm no Ongbal that could do these fights no damage and perfected it for hours but this looks pretty balanced.

Funny you say that since Simon literally has a move where you have to sprint away or you'll eat his huge aoe move..

I'd take anything over Simon to be honest. I'd unironically rather fight Bed of Chaos.

Simon, and pretty much any boss after the black rabbit brotherhood 2nd fight, can get countered pretty heavily by the perfection grindstone, so if you don't have that yet, look up how to get it. Re-spec your P organ so that you have an extra use on your special grindstone and the extended grindstone effect, use that to cheese bosses. Simon's melee is pretty slow, but consistent, so once you get it memorized it's a rather consistent parry unlike the more spastic bosses. If you don't perfect parry it, it's going to mess up your health thru your guard pretty good, especially if you're using a smaller weapon with bad guard reduction. When you're in a pinch, apply the grindstone to rapidly build up stagger on the boss with each parry then go for your staggering move, whether that's a heavy attack from a fast weapon, or a fable art from a bigger weapon. As for the projectiles and AoEs in phase 2? I dunno, just learn how to dodge or outrun them. They didn't seem too bad at all, to me.

Phase 2 Simon hits like a truck, I got a hard time with him but finally understood what the deal was. Yes you need to constantly move to avoid the big hand AoE and the disruption shards, but if you want an easy time, just focus on the dodge for this one and you'll be fine.
His attacks are faster that in phase 1 so the timing is completely different, but every swipe attack can be dodge in front of him and you'll get close enough to land a few hits every time, even charged hits if you want. You just don't want to be greedy and attack him when the big hand will drop on you haha.

Not to mention this is the first final boss(nameless puppet) I've ever seen that heels himself mid fight.

You complain about sprinting in Simon's fight, it made me curious...

Did you have the patience to complete the marathon boss in Elden Ring?

Because as I remember, Simon doesn't come close to that Fire Giant or that last marathon at the end.

Bosses were hella nerfed after this thread was made. You're late bro.

Don't know about difficulty, but it's hard to imagine Simon's fight being as bad as the Fire Giant or the last boss in ER when it comes to running around. Those fights are a chase simulation. Specially the last one. Fire Giant is just a warm up.

You will wish to go back to Simon in the next boss. xD
