When to use Acid Damage?
So far I am aware Acid damage bad against tentacle blue-ish zombie.
Fire damage mostly bad against "fire based enemy".
Any reason to use Acid damage?
Do acid damage serve as middle ground vs puppet + non-zombie flesh ?

This is honestly a good question. I mean electric seems best against puppets in my opinion, fire against the disease boys, i dont know from there.

It seems like they would be good against puppets because corrosive but, then you got the electric again.

I don't really know if any enemies have a specific weakness to it. It might be best against humans given it increases the damage you do to weapons, making it easier to break. Every human enemy in the game uses a weapon and becomes much less threatening when you snap it. There aren't that many of them, though.

I used it for everyone but zombies, it increases the enemies stagger meter by quite a bit, electricity seemed like a worse choice against puppets than acid.

Nice to know someone proven this. I still at mid game around Puppet King.
Should can get enough material to upgrade multiple weapon test

I think both acid and electric damage are good against puppets, and fire is good against any "human" (I mean, zombies and carcasses).

Hmmm, im going to have to test this, you have me very curious.
acid = poison. its trash. it will usually do about 400 damage before wearing off.

It also increase stagger buildup and damage done to enemies, by your comparison electricity is even worse cos it does no dmg by itself

shock increases all damage taken, and bonus damage to electricty damage as well. any additional damage you think acid is causing, is coming from the ~400 tick damage.

It's incorrect to say ~400 tick dmg, cos both fire and acid do damage based on enemies HP.
Also, the difference in damage from fire and acid ticks is around 35%, which is not that much considering acid also gives other benefits

Here is what I have come up with based on what the games states -

Decay state
Caused by Acid damage
Causes weakness to acid damage, acid damage over time, and weapons break easier.

Electric Shock state
Caused by Electric Blitz damage
Causes weakness to Electric Blitz damage and physical damage, as well as increased stagger damage.

Overheat state
Caused by fire damage
Causes weakness to fire, continuous fire damage, and lower natural health recovery.

So if someone heals fast = Fire
If someone has a really powerful weapon = Acid
In general = Electric Blitz

The game also states that carcasses are weak to fire and puppets are weak to Electric Blitz, so most likely they get to Overheat or Electric Shock faster for the respective enemy.

Also, infected versions of each are still weak to their non-infected damage type, so infected puppets = shock and infected carcasses = fire.

If it takes easily enough, and they have a weapon that'll snap, I always apply Acid and then pop the Perfection Whetstone. I've had a fairly reliable time breaking things like that while I keep practicing my own perfect guard timing. Acid may not be the best DoT but hey, damage is damage. I can always toss Shock on after the Acid wears off and it's my turn to go on the offensive.

Acid is strong against the blue guys in the final areas, do they count as human i wonder.....
