Farming Throwables?
I mentioned earlier that I'm getting bent over and spanked by the Black Rabbits, but the closest run I had (damn near had the big guy with the Totally-Not-Buster-Sword, but got stunlocked when he was at about 3%) was when I had grenades to lob at the adds.

I am out. Is there anywhere prior to this fight I can farm throwables? I know the factory is good for flame throwables, but I'd appreciate suggestions for where to grind up a pocketful of hand-flung pain.

Unsure if you found your answer but there is a merchant in the Red Lobster hotel that will sell you all the games throwables once you show him a mask you find early on in the chapter

Just a matter of grinding the ergo require to buy said items

go to the moonlight town or whatever it's called and kill the puppets. they sometimes drop thermite. Get a good stock and then use the rest of your souls to buy other throwables from the black market merchant in the red lobster hotel.

the vendor that sells unlimited throwables is at the first Malum bonfire, through the shortcut door, a ladder on the right

If you kill enemies over and over again in that area before them you can get the pipes. It may sound odd but they hit like a truck if your technique is high.

As dakota mentioned , moonlight town is a good place to farm thermite. Just port to that stargazer, run back, kill everyone in that room , and rinse and repeat. It also helps stock up on legion magazines as well if you are low and the wonderful little items for summoning specters.

Those are the ones off the top of my head. OH and you can head to inside the building on Elysian Boulevard where that merchant is to buy the electric ones.

Hope that helps.

Thanks so much, all! Sorry for not responding sooner, was in bed (my wife and I get up stupid early every morning, because we have nature's alarm clock: a hungry cat and dogs that have to pee).

I hadn't even seen the black market merchant, and I know I have the mask (had it appraised by the butler) and the shortcut, so I clearly need to open my eyes when I pass through the Red Lobster.

I'm going to put this info to use today. Thanks, folks!

Got the Eldest! Took another eight attempts this morning, but I can go to work secure in the knowledge that I will have a *new* wall to beat my head against this evening.

Thanks, all!
