So I Got The True Ending, But Still Can't Get The Special Weapon

So I got the true ending, but I still can't get the special weapon. Anyone know what the problem is?

Did you directly started new game+ ?
If not, there is a Lies of P wiki on the net, where you find more information about getting the Golden Lie.

true ending as in you beat the first puppet boss? if so you need to go back to boss weapon guy to get that special weapon

You mean the Golden Lie weapon?

From my understanding, you need to seriously and i mean seriously increase your Humanity, which requires you to lie pretty much always and hear all the records, plus (not confirmed) give Sophia peace.

If you mean the boss weapon, Proof of Humanity, you get it like all other boss weapons, through the NPC that sells them.

I'm talking about the Golden Lie weapon. I'd say I lied like 90% of the time, and noticed during the blind portion of my playthrough that I had gotten like 90% of the way to getting the true ending. The Fextralife wiki is severely lacking in information atm. I followed what that wiki said on how to obtain the guide and I did everything it said, and I still didn't get it.

No I'm talking about the weapon you pull out of the portrait of a boy in papa's office, not the one you get from the first boss.

Watched a video on all the lies that could be told in the game. I didn't lie to the special weapons dude about the safe place. I didn't lie to the second to last boss about the blue-haired girl, and I didn't lie to Venigni about what I had heard about the Frenzy. I guess that was enough to screw up an otherwise blind true ending run. Lame. And this game is such a sweatfest I don't feel like going through it again on NG+.

Also I don't have all the music records, but the wiki said I only needed like 5 or 6 so I got 6 and listened to them all but nothing happened. Nowing Fextralife it was probably a lie.

Stange, I got the weapon on my first blind playthrough. The Things I did:
Mostly Lied except for: Alidoro, Simon at the gallery, Simon after battle.
I gave Sophia peace, listened to records to be more human and also did all side quests.
I did get the "your heart is beating" Maybe its not the amount of lies but what lies you tell?
I also picked up the weapon before talking to gepetto and refusing to give my heart.

the wiki is wrong. it says you need to lie every chance you get, but thats not at all the case. you need to act like a "good boy" by being polite to females and children, and wary of males. i.e. you need to lie to women and children when its the "nice" thing to do, tell the truth when that is. men you need to lie to the first time you speak to them. the effects of lying has a different message depending on if you were a "good boy" or "bad boy". you need a certain number of "good boy points" to get the golden lie. "bad boy points" cancel out the good, which is why if you follow the wiki, youll see the portraits nose growing and shrinking in between steps.

Yo man, after i killed the nameless puppet, I accidentally started the NG+, is there a way to get the proof of humanity weapon?

you can actually get the golden lie BEFORE the ending of the game. I was able to get it immediately after dealing with sophie

You should still have the Ergo, so just wait until you get to Alidoro in the Cathedral on NG+

Did you listen to all the vinyl records you picked up? They give you humanity once each track completes. You can also pray at the alter before the cathedral stargazer to get another source of humanity if you're just short. If you lied in every or nearly every encounter and are still short, I'm guessing it's the music that's missing.

The golden lies is accessible when you increase your humanity enough times, and isn't tied to beating the game (though it takes until the late game to increase your humanity high enough).
Lying at every single opportunity isn't strictly necessary but lying *most of the time* definitely is. Listen to all the records, do all the quest lines, and pray at a certain statue to increase your humanity besides that.

you didnt grind enough humanity. I was able to get the Golden Lie even before fighting Simon. Not that i used it for anything..
