Feels stuttery even with high FPS
I dunno how to explain it but the game "feels" like it's playing at a lot less FPS than it really is, when I move the camera around it feels stuttery is anyone else experiencing this?

Edit: Update so I went into NVC and clicked "reset defaults" and then put back on force vsync and forced a fps cap of 3fps below my refresh rate and it seems to be working great now.

It seems to have been related to nvidia control panel settings or possibly a bug that was resolved by resetting defaults. Hopefully this may help anyone else.

I've been getting stutters even with high fps I will take a 20 to 40 frame hit out of no where.. then a stutter happens... even if I'm just walking around

It just feels weird. 60 feels like 40, 120 feel like 60. I can notice it a lot when panning the camera around.

Its due to frame drops. You can have 120 fps like I do, but once it drops to 109, you will notice it, especially if it happens a lot. Its not stuttering exactly but itll feel like that.
OR your gsync is being dumb. I had gsync ♥♥♥♥ up in witcher 3, and it stuttered a lot with out the fps even changing.

It doesn't appear to be performance related does it on 1080p and 4k, dlss off and on, doesn't matter the settings or res. I have a 4090 so the actual performance shouldn't be an issue, it just feels choppy when moving the camera around like the fps isn't actually what it says it is.

That's the one thing I have to give Starfield credit for. The frametimes are excellent. Even when the frame rate jump around it still feels pretty smooth.

This game however has uneven frametimes that jump around constantly. It's general performance is good besides that. If the devs work on it, it should be fixed pretty soon.

Poor frame times and stutter issues are very common for UE4 games. Disabling any overlay, be it nvidia, amd, steam or xbox game bar, will usually help.

This right here I was trying to figure out why I was getting stutters ever couple of minutes.... I guess I didn't notice how much ram steam was eating and had 7 web helpers opened and steam was using over a gig of my ram.

I can feel it too, special in Hotel Krat and in some other areas. But there are also places where it's really smooth so it's like 50/50

not gloating or anything, but i don't have this issue. there are other issues i'm having, but my 3070 is able to run it on max settings at 1440p with no dlss or anything solid 100-120 fps. when it dips below 120 fps, i don't notice any huge stutters.

that sucks tho, stuttery performance with high fps is the worst feeling!

It's hard to explain, but you can certainly feel it. It's almost like the fps counter is a lie.

It feels slightly smoother in borderless window than fullscreen which is odd.

Game stutters to hell after a certain amount of game time. Like I went AFK to make some food probably an hour and came back stuttering all over. Usually a PC restart fixes it but still frustrating none the less.

Doesn't that usually indicate a memory leak? Did you check your ram usage at the time?

I have confirmed it is not related to visual settings. The framerates are ALL over the place. It'll go from 333fps to 130fps just simply by moving the camera, the frame graph is spiky as hell, the fps bounces all over the place regardless of settings. It's very odd as this is the only game that does this.

Edit: Update so I went into NCP and clicked "reset defaults" and then put back on force vsync and forced a fps cap of 3fps below my refresh rate and it seems to be working great now.

There must have been some setting in NVP causing issues.

May I know what your settings are on NCP/NVP? I'm currently getting this issue and it's making boss fights just downright unwinable

All default, I personally just set max fps to 3 below refresh rate (in my case 117) and also force vsyn on. Every other setting is default. You also may want to enable resizable BAR in bios too if not already on.
