Don't worry, buddy. I'm suuure the people who complain when a game removes something like panty shots of underage girls (not because they like it, no siree, but because "it's about not censoring art"), and then proceed to review-bomb it, flood every discussion board under the sun with complaining, and maybe also harass the devs for good measure are going to be just as upset with this actual, admitted case of self-censorship by the devs, spurred on by the fear of upsetting those who might find it offensive.

I mean, of course they will. Otherwise that would just mean they're massive hypocrites or something, and their whole "just protecting art from censorship" is just a flimsy excuse to harass people.

So don't worry, they'll be here soon to raise hell against "censorship" any minute now.

Aaaaany minute now...

Still waiting.

Y'know, I'm starting to wonder if those guys weren't acting on bad faith.

All Puppets Are Bastard, an obvious play on "ACAB".
It was written on a sign attached to a hanging puppet on a bridge.
It was featured in early promo materials, but later the devs removed it from the final product "to avoid hurting sensibilities".

Ah ok.
Well if they removed it in fear of controversy it's unfortunate, people shouldn't self-censor, regardless of which "side" they're on.
That said it is quite cringe, especially in a game set in a fictional universe, to have a reference to modern politics, kind of like the "Aug Lives Matter" in the latest Deus Ex, I remember people hated it not for political reasons but because it was super cringe.

Yeah sure, "because it was cringe".
The same way people against the "they/them" pronouns in Starfield are against those "because it's current day".
There's always a good excuse to be a bigot, if you're looking for it.

It's the same bull since Gamergate in 2015 was about "game journalism ethics". If you're really believe those excuses, you may want to take a step back and reconsider all that.

...you're accusing me of being bigoted against Deus Ex's Augmented? I don't understand your post.
