[Solved] My game won't launch no matter what

So I've tested quite a lot of things to resolve this issue but none of them did anything.

The problem : When i launch the game, it says it is running but it doesn't display any window. The process is there in task manager.

What I've tried :
- Restarting Steam
- Restarting Computer
- Updating graphics drivers to latest version
- Update Windows 10 to latest version ( can't install Win 11)
- Verifying integrity (no issues)
- Uninstalling and reinstalling completely the game
- Launching straight from the executable in the installation folder

I have no idea what else I could try. I don't even have an error message or a log that could help me pinpoint the issue. All other games I have work fine.

If anyone has any idea, it would be greatly appreciated, thanks !

PS : Specs if that helps I7 6700K - GTX 1070 Ti - 32 GB RAM - Win 10 64 bits

open local files, right click the .exe, select properties, open the compatibility tab, activate the compatibility mode and choose windows 7 (at least I did).

That actually worked ! Thanks a lot though it's definitely weird that its need Win 7 Compatibility ...

I don't get a compatibility tab. I have general, sharing, security, previous versions and, custimize

Make sure you right-click on the .exe, not the folder itself. I didn't see it the first time, but then I saw I clicked the folder.

Did you find any solution ? I mean the game runs with Win 7 compatibility mode but it's weird it's the only game that won't launch on win 10 on my pc... and it feels wrong lol

omg this worked for me, ive been having games act up randomly and it only gave me windows 8 option but it worked

So I found something, if you have a VR headset plugged into your PC and the game doesn't launch :

I had the same issue with the game Phasmophobia not launching, instead of unplugging peripherals for this game go into your Lies Of P game files:

"Lies of P\Engine\Binaries\ThirdParty\OpenXR\win64"

And rename the file "openxr_loader.dll" to something like "openxr_loader.dll.bak" just to make this file unusable by the engine without removing it,

Now the game launches fine with Win 10 (and VR peripherals plugged) and I don't need to set the compatiblity mode to Win 7, hope it helps !

I guess this can work with other UE games out there that won't launch or crashes randomly, it's always the same file causing issues because it's used for VR.

So I tried the fix listed here since I just bought the game but it's still just displaying a black screen and not launching. Does anyone have another option?
