i guess
The guns don't add really graphic violence because there is no blood or gore involved, and honestly the ability to actually fight alongside your pals feels really unique and refreshing, and makes me feel more of a bond with my pals because I can trade aggro with them and keep them safe.
It's not for everybody, but if you like those games then I think most people would have a blast playing this. Also, this is not a game you will sink 500 hours in to. It is not complete yet, but once you catch all the legendary pals and beat the tower bosses you can consider the game pretty much finished until more content is added, but you can keep playing as long as you want to.
Buy it when it's on sale, at a discount. Other than that, it goes alright; still early access as well, so content wise it isn't all there yet.
If what you just said yourself doesn't make you want to buy the game, then I guess there's no reason for you to get it. Not a game for you I'm afraid.
Palworld is a survival sandbox mixed with a third person shooter. The monster catching gimmick adds a nice twist on a collection of features you've probably seen before if you've played some recent survival games. I think it's a solid game overall, but automation, base management and AI needs more work. The recently announced patch did look like it would address some of the issues with base management.
If you're tried of the way Gamefreak has been doing things for the last 10+ years and would like to play something very different that still has cute magical animals to capture then you'll probably enjoy this game assuming you like survival sandboxes.
If you're looking for another linear story driven turnbased RPG, then Palworld may not be to your liking. There is no story beyond reading text logs and NPCs don't have much to say.
If you're not in love with the concept of a survival sandbox where you can capture monsters and use them to do your chores or help you in combat then it's safe to let this game cook for while longer. Put it on your wishlist and take a look at it after some major patches.
However if that concept sounds fun to you and you don't mind returning your bases every so often to micromanage things then this is a safe buy and you can probably expect 50-100 hours of play time.
Third option trolling.
It's kinda like a farmer using bulls to plow, and horses/mules to pull carts. They help do work, and get rewarded with food and medical and protection from predators (which makes the animals happy).
It's similar in this game.
Pals work for food, get to soak in a hot tub, and get free medical (and presumably have predators in the wild, which they are protected from by the player).
The player can be as gentle as they want (they even added an option to cut their workloads
down so they get more downtime and rest).
You even get the options to pet and feed the Pals, making them happier.
Either a game that parodies and lampoons an entire genre, and even takes jabs at IRL social issues, is your cup of tea or it's too irreverent and offensive for you.
If you like game-ified shartposting, then wait few months for PocketPair to knock more bugs down and then pick it up.
If you are triggered by one team of Japanese developers mocking another team of Japanese developers, or are easily offended by their scuffed sense of humor, then do not throw movie-date money at it.
you shouldn't
nobody cares what you do.
go away
Does it have some elements of Pokemon? Sure. But once you get playing its a whole different game, more like Ark, tho much of the exploration and fighting also reminds me of Zelda. Palworld got a lot of hype because of its parallels to Pokemon but really its its own game and it holds up as its own game. If you like the open world exploring and battling type games its worth it. If you are wanting a turn based battle simulator like Pokemon this isn't it.
