Is palworld a "single player game" with co op?

I was told at launch by a bunch of people that the game felt like it was made for single player but had co op. And that if you played with friends it felt unbalanced and that boss drops were not great for groups among other things. do people still feel this way?

It is a game best played in coop, but you can easy play solo. Bosses are obviously a lie since if they drop recipe you can use it to craft infinite amount of items (it does not disappear). End game bosses are designed around groups.
In short
You can play solo on your own world.
You can share your world with other players and enjoy private coop session.
You can host public server and enjoy horde of players.
In my opinion its great coop game, very stable (200h, one crash because of mods).

I don't think everyone gets their own loot drop, they are shared. But, beyond that, it's very friendly to both single and coop play. As stated, some of the end game stuff seems tuned to be completed by groups. It's doable solo, but requires more prep work in the form of finding better gear and breeding.

Co-op helps out a lot because there's so much stuff to do, just having another pair of hands to issue build orders and sort inventory lets you stay less overwhelmed. But it's balanced out by you needing to make multiple copies of weapons, armor etc, increasing the amount of resources you need to produce. (Having everyone specialize in different weapons so you don't compete for the same supplies is a good idea, and it helps in battle as well - after all you've only got 4 weapon slots but there's a lot more to choose from)
