Some Questions
Recently got back into the game and decided I wanted to put Vampiric on my base pals. I've been unable to catch or breed into the trait. Does my rng just hates me or is there a higher likely hood of certain pals having/getting it? Second Question, how many stories high do I need to build to give resources enough space before I can put a roof over them without interfering with their re-spawn? The new rainbow colored one specifically.

In regards to not getting vampiric, that's just RNG doing what it loves to do.
Vampiric is not worth the hassle to breed them with it. Pretty useles passive if you ask me.

I have Vampiric with Craftmanship on my water Pal. That Pal is a workhorse 24/7. Granted than Nocturnal will do the same to that aspect. I didn't have much of a grind for that perk.

I just started and stopped breeding, I saw no point to it than creating a replica of the Pal. I was hoping eggs would create random Pal with transferred traits. Even without breeding, I'm still enjoying PalWorld. PalWorld is better than that I Choose You Pikachu crap on the Switch.

I don't know about the roof and resources re-spawn case. I've never done that.

As for the Vampiric, it's probably purely RNG. But personally, I got my first Vampiric when breeding Splatterina. Although I'm not sure if it's specific. Also I got my first Vampiric on a new save by catching a wild Croajiro somewhere near the start location.

It's hard to say anything about the benefits of the Vampiric (I mean as a combat passive, otherwise it's just the same nocturnal, but kinda harder to get), some say it's good, some say it's not that good. In any case, I've seen videos where Xenolord is defeated both with and without Vampiric, so... I think it makes no difference. Depends on what you change it to.

Getting vampiric is a bit of a vanity thing of me at this point as I already have a decent amount of my working pals nocturnal. That being said, I still want it.
If you build 5 stories high that will clear everything, that will also be more than enough room for an alpha Jormen
I would add, 4 technically clears everything, but alpha Jormen can still get stuck if terrain isn't perfect. Any little bump and he could hit the ceiling and bug out.
