Revert the changes, to throw the orbs to summon our pals, Nintendo DID NOT start the monster collection genre or the concept of capturing monsters with orbs. In fact all of gen 1 pokemon was stolen and ripped straight from classic dragon quest and they didn't even hide it. Will leave a negative review until you revert the changes. Domt bend the knee to tyrants

Its likely just a precaution that the courts make them do it which is entirely possible. I imagine it will stay like this unless they win the court case. Doesn't matter who invented it if their court system saids they have to do it.

i heard that if nintendo wins, they'll just stop selling in japan but not the rest of the world because the rest of the world has better laws against this ♥♥♥♥. is that true?

i doubt it that would be alienating the consumers due to a mechanic they can change and or pay Nintendo a licencing fee to keep that mechanic in. but generally speaking they could utilize items like the palball launcher as a main method of delivery and due to it being mechanically different since its not the the player throwing the ball but instead the ball being fired from an object.

They removed throwing balls to capture pals? What the actual ♥♥♥♥? Removing it is like the devs acknowledging that they stole it from Pokemon, which they didn't. What a bunch of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

It's hard to say, given how there are international accords and treaties that tend to encourage all members to abide by another country's court rulings.

So, if Japan upholds the overly broad patents, it's possible other countries will also uphold them. But it's not a guarantee, especially in the EU, who may tell Nintendo to go screw themselves (in legalese, of course).

No, no.
They only removed throwing your Pal Spheres to summon your already-caught Pals.

In short, it currently pretends you threw the sphere at your feet.

They also made the crosshairs only appear if you're aiming, or if riding a Pal (aiming or not).

So. I okay the game a while now with the NRW Update. So, there isnt any real cange. I only cant throw my pal anymore, "wow". That is nothing.

When someone is complaining about THAT, this person have in fact some issues..

They probably changed it to prevent Steam from removing the game from the store until the trial or whatever is over. When this has happened with other games, they were forced to not be able to sell through Steam until everything was solved.

I honestly prefer to deal with this change for the time being so that they can keep selling the game. Cutting or limiting Palworld's way to earn money would be a sure way to let Nintendo win, since they'll probably try to make this last as long as possible to economically suffocate Pocketpair and win by default.

No, they changed the throwing balls to summon your own pal. Though they prolly will also remove throwing balls to capture pals.

Imo it would be just better if they make a separate game for japanese and the rest of the world. So that nintendo doesn't get what they want, while they don't even want to make better games. And then the japanese gamers can decide for themselves which game is better, and see how scummy nintendo is with their game designs.

Steam would not do so without a court order though. They have almost never preemptively acted just because legal action is in process.

imagine believing a small devstudio like this could face the brunt force of a megacoproration like nintendo.

dude, if nintendo smells a chance to drag this out and cause extra cost for Palworld, they will do so. palworld will just crumble under the weight of a multiple years long legal battle. Nintendo doesnt have to win, they just have to outlast Palworld and they have the money to do it.

so let the legal experts advise palworld and let palworld do what they can to minimize financial damage. Palworld is not here to fight your moral battles.

"Almost never." Myth of Empires, for example, was taken down by Steam until the dispute ended, without any court order:

"A few days ago, Steam received allegations of suspected copyright infringement concerning Myth of Empires, and in accordance with the DMCA and to exempt itself from liability, has temporarily removed Myth of Empires from its store,"

Moreover, Nintendo could get one, so they just made a move ahead of time to prevent exactly that from happening until everything is resolved, be it because of Steam trying to stay away from any potential legal issues or because of Nintendo themselves.

It's even possible that Steam warned Pocketpair about this, and that being why they decided to make the change overnight and release it in the buggy state that it was released. We can't know for sure unless one of them talks about this, but things certainly point to that possibility existing.

I suggest you sue nintendo corp, sounds like you have good grounds.

Palworld's situation is different from Myth of Empire's though. Myth of Empires was dealing with copyright and DMCA. In Palworld's situation it is just a patent infringement case. There has been no copyright infringement and no DMCA claim filed here. With Myth of Empires it was specifically the copyright and DMCA strike that made Steam de-list the game till legal proceedings were done.

LOL you leave a negative review because they been forced by law to change the mechanic? Nintendo might not have invented the mechanic, but they registered the license fo it. Poketpal have NO CHOICE but remove the mechanics. You wanna negative review? do it to japanese laws and nintendo.

The DMCA is different. Valve HAS to act when getting a valid DMCA claim, they are legally required to do so. But the C in that stands for Copyright and this is a patent matter. Nintendo has not and cannot use that mechanism to force Valve to take the game down without a court order. Plus that's an American law, and both Nintendo and Pocketpair are in Japan.
