It helped me when I dismantle the roof... apparently there are still big problems with the positioning of the structures inside the buildings. Alas, you have to sacrifice beauty for functionality when planning a base... sad.
It might also help to make a double floor for the roof - I haven't tested.
Also every time I log back into the game I have to manually carry the penguin back to the fridge to get it to work inside the building otherwise he won't find the entrance... lol.
This also sometimes happens on uneven terrain.
In cases like this you can observe pals falling off their workstations on the monitoring stand, but they will consistently work it once they arrive. This seems possible since the AI is constantly checking and rerouting, it can successfully reach its destination during automatic workmode.
Observe for props, limited foundation space, uneven terrain, etc..
Automatic workmode is what I always use, outside of my cake production where I set a pal on the mill and on the cookpot so those two would be running as consistently as possible.
The walking space itself is fine, but it seems that the "patching has instability" still applies: does "limited foundation space" mean the building foundations? I use roof squares a lot when the foundations can't be placed in that area, and on the upper few levels of the base.
Either way, it's still the instability you described given that I have seen pals get to those areas, they simply don't do it for the tasks. Thank you!
The bugs aren't new, sadly. The message spam is - it's more or less printing the debug text to the player's base event dialogue box - but what's happening to cause the spam is the same pathfinding bugs that's been happening since the game went live.
Not something to fault/lay blame for - it's good to know when a pal's stuck - but the frequency of message alerts could definitely use some tuning, and should have been a lot less frequent from the outset.
It's not bad to the point of being debilitating (I think that they work more when we're not at the base than when we are), but it's definitely gotten to be enough of a problem that it should be a priority issue to fix.
The only thing I struggle with now is that the pals produce so much my transportation pals can't keep up. But I figure that'll get alleviated when I start breeding/fusing those pals. I've mostly been focusing on getting the pals producing more.

What terrain were you building on?
