Regarding Battle Traits...
I am about to start getting together a proper team of fighters and I wanted to ask something. Using Earth Emperor and Anubis as an example, why would I want to go for EE, which only boosts Earth damage by 20%, when I can go for a flat Attack boost of 20% with the likes of Ferocious?

Thanks in advance.

Earth Emperor is a multiplier on top of the other multipliers.

By themselves, both Earth Emperor and Ferocious would boost your damage by the same amount. But Earth Emperor would do better with other damage-boosting skills as it increases your total damage in the end.

For example:
You cast Rock Lance.

Passives: Ferocious, Musclehead, Serenity, Legend. Adds up to 180% of your normal damage.
(100+(20+30+10+20))
Or
Passives: Earth Emperor, Musclehead, Serenity, Legend. Adds up to 192% of your normal damage.
(100+(30+10+20)*1.2)

I asked about this before and people said it's the same, not a multiplier as I suspected. Thanks for this, back to the farm for me

Groovy. Thanks for the response and potentially saving me a TON of time.
They're better if you're building a Pal for a specific type/fight, like the above example for an Anubis which you could have for Zoe & Grizzbolt farming. This would also benefit from the base 20% same-type attack bonus.

For a general-use Pal you're going to be using multiple attack types on or swapping attacks out for different fights you'll get more mileage out of the general damage boosts, though, especially considering some types don't have a lot of hard enemies they counter or a weaker attack set in general.

There's a bit more nuance to it. Since same-type bonus is also only 20%, but there is a difference of more than 20% DPS between the best and worst skills, a lot of the time the most effective skills are ones that don't match your pal's type. This makes the type-specific passives a bit of a trade off, since they may only boost 1 or 2 of your skills.

With that said, Ferocious and Earth Emperor are both outclassed by better passives. You should go for Demon God, Serenity, Musclehead, and Legend instead. If you don't have access to Legend then Impatient also outclasses them. I also like Vampire but that one's personal preference.
Yeah, that's what I was getting at in the second bit. Anubis is one that might benefit since Earth has some decent types, if you're stacking STAB on top of enemy weakness, but AFAIK Holy Burst is still king across the board.

I wouldn't do it personally because I prefer the flexibility, but some people farm way harder than I do.
I've got access to Serenity, Musclehead, and Legend, but no Demon God. Is there a specific Pal I gotta hunt for or do I just gotta hope against hope I luck into finding it?

Considering how many bloody Pals I'm breeding now for my workforce and battle force, there's a not all too low possibility of brute forcing it.

I think Holy Burst was nerfed, it doesn't seem to hit as many times as it used to. My guess is they added a hit limit or something. It's still good but I think Seed Mine might be the best again? Not sure.

You just have to get lucky. But since all pals have an equal chance of having it, you can just mass catch a bunch of low level pals until you find one with it.

Guess I'll have to grind it out then and hope for the best.

Easiest way to do this is to catch a ton of Chikipi until you get what you want then breed that onto a Yakumo to catch all future pals with those (Note: you cant pass on Legend with Yakumo, I go with Demon God/Musclehead/Serenity/Ferocious on mine.
Yeah, that's gonna be in the cards for later, for sure, as I also need to use my Lucky/Remarkable Craftsmanship/Artisan/Nocturnal Yakumo to get a premiere egg laying Chikipi going (because you can only get Chikipi from Chikipi). Right now I'm tackling various breeding projects to optimize my workforce as well as get a Jetragon with Swift/Eternal Engine alongside it's normal passives to serve as my go to mount. Got the Eternal Engine one, just need the other now.

Thanks for all the help guys, really appreciate it.
Lucky is another trait that can't be passed on via Yakumo, anything that is a "special" trait (IE: something that comes specifically with certain pals Lucky, Legend, Invader, "king of"), it can be bred for though or you can try your luck at Yakumo manipulating a wild lucky to get one with all those traits.

Lucky itself isn't really useful anymore Work Slave is +30% work speed, Serious is +20%, both outperform the +15% Lucky. But if you're just going for the aesthetics of having a big ranch pal i understand that.

I kinda have a Roughnecks approach to how I approach my workforce. While they're bred to mainly maintain the base, I almost never go with Work Slave because of the Attack malice (I say almost because my Prunia, which is naturally Nocturnal, will have it because why bother with the Nocturnal passive on it).

And by Roughnecks, I mean, "I have one rule: everybody fights, nobody quits. If you don't do your job, I'll condense you. Do you get me?"
