Even when I got max speed buffs, its still so slow, that it gives me like 30 plasteel in an hour. What are these rates with THREE oil extractors?!

This is why I don't use weapons that cost plasteel as fuel. Its far to slow to obtain, and its torture to wait for it. Is there a faster way i can get it?

Research Oil Extractor speed in Pal Labor Research for Mining. (up to 60%)

There are Pals you can kill to acquire Oil. Malraith and Kikit come to mind. So you could try a breed and butcher operation for those, if you are so inclined.

You can also run the Oil Rigs.

Maraith doesn't drop oil. The only two pals that drop oil are Smokey and Kikkit.

Edit: Nevermind guess they do drop oil.

You can place 2 extractors on a single node. Research applies globally.

get 4 lv 5 kindling pals and the gigantic Furnace. If you though that was slow wait till till you get the new bar to craft it takes even longer. Give the 4 souls and decent work speed traits to help.

Im saying the oil production is bad, not really the plasteel. There aint no pals to speed it up!

Its slow, yeah. I don't mind it after the research speed though, with 4 nodes I came back after about 40 minutes to 63 plasteel ready for smelting.

Only good counter is to tackle it long before you need it or get lucky on world drops over your journey, otherwise it's a great time to AFK breed lol.

Edit; 2 extractor bug is still working, I'm doing it rn on a public server.

40 mins and only 63 plasteel? Thats what im saying. Not enough to make a green flamethrower.

You can EASILY make enough ores for 5 million coins at that time. So willing to buy plasteel from an available vendor.....


And DO NOT even think about raiding that stupid lv 60 rig..... you only get like 30 plasteel from that. Bruh.


Hexolite age for some reason isn't as painful. Because you actually do somthing to get it, not afk for like 500 hours for like 2 oil. And who knows? PokectPair may, and can easily fix the glitch. They already fixed the wall clipping glitch (Which I mass a lot....)

The base rate is 1 oil every 100 seconds and can be upgraded to roughly 1 per minute. That means 1 plasteel every 5 minutes. And yellow plasma cannon takes like 1100 to make. You're pretty much looking at something that takes days if not week to make if you don't exploit the multiple pumps per node or run oil rigs religiously or commit some genocide. So, yeah, the rate is just cruel compared to all other resources in the game.

You can always try mods to buy or increase it, the problem is you are sitting there waiting for it. Start a breeding project or work on something else and passively get it so you don't lose your mind.

Not that I'm saying I disagree, I do think oil should get a lil' boost, but I consider my gains to be quite a lot considering I just reached Plasteel and I'm not even using it. By the time I've actually reached end-game, I'll be ready. Time Management and all that.

I'd like to remind you that you can always pause your other projects and make more oil bases if you're desperate for a certain item. If you're on SP you can disable base decay and come back later in the event you make cool looking bases. or even add more bases in world settings. There are solutions to this problem.

Make sure to build enough accumulators so that your base is powered while the ozerks go to sleep. Or get lucky and get one of them with a nocturnal trait.
I can't find the latter so I went with the former option

i somewhat agree, it is too slow... but it's currently the only time sink i have really, and i'm doing other stuff while the oil builds up.
plus there is a LOT of places you could build more oil 'farms'

but also, as mentioned there is a few pals you can get oil from, plus the supply drops, at least in the right areas seem to pretty consistently contain oil, i've been getting 30+ oil in each drop, if it's not a meteorite instead, and as others have said there are oil rigs to raid for more.

it still does i just done it recently lol but u can farm the mobs that drop oil its much faster esp if u run pals that increase drops
