About the Feybreak Oilrig
ok so im planning to Attack this oil rig across the Feybreak Island to get the Chopper Achievement, and from what i've been looking and heard about is that this Syndicate Oilrig are actually pretty hard and more challenging than the other 2 (which is obvious)
that it requires a more solid & strong approach for it to actually be tackled

i just wanna know how hard it actually is? is it really that hard or just annoying?
and im wondering if some of u guys would like to share your Strategy on
how to beat this oilrig and also the Syndicate Chopper

edit : i fckng did it, thanks for the Advise everyone
Even tho i only have multi guide missile +3 rarity, its still do its job just fine
(i also kinda regret making the overcharge rifle, this ♥♥♥♥♥ is expensive to maintain T_T )

Don't go there without being level capped and having strong Pals. You will get smoked. There are syndicate enemies there that are found nowhere else, and they hit hard and summon strong Pals of their own. Minimize the number of enemies you're fighting at once - a headlong frontal assault will almost certainly get you bodied in short order.

Bring some heavy firepower to deal with the attack chopper, and plenty of healing. You're going to be in for a long fight, no matter what.

To give you an idea, I did it with lightweight hexolite armor, the charge rifle, and a team consisting of Neptilius, Bellanoir Libero, a very high-level Grizzbolt, and a couple jobbers and it was still pretty tough.

A more optimized team and playstyle will probably have an easier time, but my point is, you aren't pulling this off without some serious preparation.
The main issue is going to be that the chopper is really good at killing you, so you NEED to figure out a good place to fight from (with sufficient cover). There's no time limit so playing cowardly is viable.

You will need a good long range weapon since it's flying, too. A rifle, a missile launcher, maybe the legendary meteor launcher you can get from reaching a high arena rank if you've got enough meteor shards stored up.

Pals also die really easily to the chopper so it could be worth just bringing a water mount and then four gobfins, but there's some hitscan pal attacks that could help (Icicle Rain for instance)
Maxed gobfins with vanguard and stronghold strategist, a maxed felbat (bred meteorain and good passives help) and something to get you there can be used for combat. The enemies are strong and nasty damage sponges without peak endgame firepower. Then they are just annoying tanky enemies. Things like a good charge rifle help. Or rocket launcher for groups. For the 1st time, a slow and steady approach is best. Don't worry about these fast "charge in, run to the chest and kill the chopper, then chicken out" setups now, you really want to get a feeling of how it goes first. Random enemies all over the place can be a big problem when you aren't aware of them.

With a good felbat, the chopper alone is fine. Find a bit of a cover and you can take care of it (the cage with the chest alone can be quite good for stopping most of the chopper's shots). The actual problem can be getting to the chopper and making sure that nothing else is around to kill you.
Edit: if you go with multi missile launcher, other random enemies can be very bad - your missiles can go at them instead of the chopper and hit a wall between you and the enemy. This is one of the reasons to clear enemies around.
one you know what to do its not THAT hard. but here what was my build at the time:
hexolit helmet - gray/common
"temperature" hexolit armour - green/ uncommon
atk+ def+ hp+ pendent - max rarity

2 vanguard + stronghold strategist gobfins max out
a surfer pal with vanguard.
a tanky but fast mounteble pal. in my case celesdear
small but great attack pal. in my case splaterina

advance bow - legendary rarity
rocket launcher - legendary rarity but got replace with the legendary grenade launcher for more spam.

you must play like a chicken. one target at a time. the second you are surrounded its joever.
as for the chopper. you need to camp and do pot-shots. although there are 2 bad spawn for the mega chest, most have a "blue metal house" that can be use for the fight.
and you may have notice that there a lot of defence up. that's for that splash damage and chunk you are gonna take by the chopper.

like legit, in order to stay under the fire of the chopper and survive you need the build above, a lovander / felbat max out for the combat pal, the legendary charge rifle and both hexolit helmet AND "temperature" hexolit armour in legendary rarity, WITH MAX STATS. you will not survive otherwise.
All of the trash mobs there have like 10X hp, so basically it's like fighting 100 wild Frostallions at once. I recommend getting a good quality Terraprisma and bringing a few in your inventory cause they're going to break. Legendary weapons are almost a requirement there, and you'll want the best armor you can get your hands on (no less than epic).

Use a Rocket Launcher to CC, Advanced bow or Charge rifle to kill, Terraprisma for chip damage. Save 5 or 6 Terraprisma for the chopper; you'll also want a good quality Multi-Guided Missile Launcher from the 55 oil rig (the 4 shot one, not the single shot) to shoot at it from cover, but the Charge Rifle also works.

Once you try to hack the cage not only will the chopper spawn but ALL of the mobs you hadn't killed up to that point will also aggro, so if you don't clean up the rig as much as possible before the boss you're gonna have a bad time.
300-350 stamina, a max condensed hangyu, and a top-tier grappling hook will handle reaching the oil rig. Fire the hook as far away from yourself as you can at flat ground, then hold forward and glide right before you hit the point you're grappled at to launch yourself at cruising speed towards your destination. Every 5-6 seconds, break glide and re-initiate. You can travel very long distances this way, as long as you've got the stamina to stay in the air, at speeds comparable to the fastest flyers in the game. Hangyu also lifts you slightly as you fly; this is important both for getting onto the rig and for safely dismounting somewhere you're not going to get chewed up on landing.

For the rig itself, you will want high-tier armour (purple/gold plasteel minimum, preferably blue or higher hexolite), a rocket launcher, the hexolite bow (legendary schematic for this drops from frostallion noct's field boss encounter) or a weapon with equal/greater damage output, and four maxed-out gobfins with at least vanguard and a couple of top-tier attack-boosting passives. Find somewhere high to land. There's a central structure near one of the towers in the middle that has an open roof with only one enemy on top of an empty room; you can either kill or knock him off, land on the roof, and crouch to break line of sight on most of the rest of the rig's enemies.

Take out the ones that can fire at you, then wait for everything to congregate wherever they're going to stop running. While you wait, look around for the 1x2 vertical metal cage that contains the chest. Use the rocket launcher to burst down all the chaff that have gathered near your position (you may need to wait for them to re-gather if some get knocked off the platform before they die), then use the bow to kill any tankier units. Then go clear the chest area and open it.

This will summon the helicopter, which can be fought in any of a few different places around the rig. You need cover that is sufficiently large to block the homing rockets. A lot of this fight is just ducking out of cover between attacks to land shots with the bow, then waiting for the next opportunity. It'll occasionally do fly-overs and drop bombs; this is easily avoidable either with a grappling hook or just by fighting it somewhere you're covered overhead, such as the middle railings of the huge-ass red tower in one corner of the rig. You'll probably want a couple of hundred arrows minimum for this fight, and some to spare to account for misses/taking out trash units.

Once you've cleared the fight, the chest cage takes about 20 seconds of input hold to open, so make sure everything that might be running toward you is either dead or too far away to interrupt before you start.

Edit: Pocketpair, I know that contrary to common belief, you do in fact read these forums. Please don't nerf the hangyu glide jump. It's fun.
this is all very helpful information
thankyou guys :cattiva:
I recently did it with a Selyne to fly me there and take out the rabble with Holy Burst and four fully condensed Gobfin and a multi guided missile launcher for the Helicopter.

You essentially need to cheese the enemy AI from places they can't access because being out in the open will get you killed in seconds, even at max level. Fly high in the air and glide down from above to the center of the oil rig. There is an empty hut that you can land on and if you alert all surrounding enemies, they'll congregate against a wall unable to get to you. This is how you wipe them all out with Holy Burst. After clearing the area, you'll need to find the main loot chest. It's possible to spawn next to this location but I believe there are two other locations. If it is somewhere else, you'll need to get back to the hut in the center after triggering the Helicopter as soon as possible because you will be immune to its missiles from inside it. From here, you'll just shoot your guided missiles at it from inside until it's dead. I had a green level one so it ended up breaking, but I was able to finish it off with an advanced bow.
Lovander and felbat do very good there with a tanky setup as support pals. Frostplume is also pretty good there as a buffer to your reload rate. They don't mess around on that rig
I wouldn't really consider frostplume there - reloading isn't that bad (you can have multiple weapons to cycle through and reload when you have a bit of time). Healing from the felbat (or lovander) is far more useful, especially if you aren't comfortable there/know what spawns where and how to deal with it. Life leech is also very good for the chopper because it lets you tank it. This helps a lot early on because you most likely don't understand its pattern and can't reliably avoid getting hit.
Others have covered a lot, but with the new update boosting player levels it is a little easier. Gobfin setup is good, though I think it's Crojiro Noct that you could switch if you wanted to main a dark pal as your combat friend.
Guided missile launcher with 200-300 ammo is great, plus either a flamethrower, semi-auto shotgun or higher, and/or a normal rocket launcher for crowd clearing/mob control. You can take out the people who summon the super pals before they can sphere them out if you head-shot them with a rocket from far enough away too.
Generally, bring some pal meds/revival meds to keep your combat pal in the game longer, buff up your defence and attack with the right trinkets, and clear your way to the chopper.
Chopper itself, yeah, just hide and launch guided rockets. If you can time its attack patterns and lead your shots, tag it with normal rockets too for extra damage. It hits really hard if it hits, but otherwise it's just a sponge with no chase timer so slow and steady wins out.
You can technically also get a flying pal and zip around it in the air, but that's much harder to do.
thx for the advice once again everyone, i just finished the rig and it was quite tense ngl
The Felbat is definitely the MvP of saving my @ss in combat lmao
i think the spot for the chest is prty lucky aswell on my run earlier, its in the center platform on the highest level where there is a little cubby building there for me to hide from the chopper gun & missiles
if you're trying to do this with less than what folks recommended above (in terms of maxed pals and epic/legendary top tier weapons and gear) then take heed: People mention the lack of a time limit to worry about with the chopper which is true! BUT there is a time limit to worry about on this oil rig: The syndicate mobs all respawn at dawn, and without the best gear and pals you won't finish in one game day. So you definitely need to slow the passage of time/increase day length in the world settings before you set out for the oil rig. Because you do NOT want to be surrounded en mass by enemies you went to all the trouble to kill when dawn breaks and everything respawns around you while you're engaging the helicopter. Not that I would know anything about that disasterous scenario. :steamsalty:
