Passive Skills should be removable
They should add a mechanic where you can remove passives from pals and keep them to the side to add to a different pal.

Like there's no use for one of my merchants to have Diamond body especially since you can't breed them or are really incentivized to use them other than a base merchant since their work suitability suck.

They could add some sort of machine kind of like the pal condenser but you put pals or humans in and get their passive off at the cost of the pal. so yes you get the passive in like a syringe but if that pal was fully condensed they're destroyed in the process. got a DR.B with demon god? well how badly do you want that skill on your Zenolord instead? just have the passive skills that are Pal specific i.e. Legend not obtainable from this process. They could even add a timed mechanic like the egg incubator where it takes time to remove the passive so its not abusable on servers with more people.

Want to make an op pal? OK let me just grab the 1 of hundreds of op skills I set aside. Want to get rid of a bad skill ok let me just take this one off

I mean you can always just put a deterioration timer on the skills and i breed constantly its not impossible to get great skills on already op pals this just expedites that process
Doing this would completely destroy the purpose of breeding, as you can mass-produce passives at will once you have the same passive on a breeding pair.

Most pals can have most passives within a few generations of breeding if you follow the necessary breeding chains to get them there. The only place this has any real benefit is legendaries, raid pals, and pals like jormun ignis that can't be bred from other pals. Which, while being a problem, isn't really big enough of one to warrant a cover-all exception like this to the rules.

On the other hand, having single-use items that do this be very rare drops from certain content areas (like the oil rigs) could absolutely be a worthwhile idea...

i wouldn't be against a rare drop tbh. but i realized that what i was asking for was the Pal Surgery Table it was shown in game super early on but isnt implemented yet. basically it allowed you to alter skills and even change the Pal's gender

he can not change pal genders, ive used him enough times to know
It's probably been suggested as an alternative by now, but what about a mechanic to spend pal souls for a reroll of random passives?
Only way I could see this working and keeping it balanced would be if it's something akin to condensing a pal. You'd need to extract x number of that passive to give it to a pal. It'd need to be relatively high to keep it from making breeding obsolete, and also to keep you from just going up and down spawn hill to catch a bunch of lamballs and cattivas until one spawns with demon god.

Better to just keep passives as a breeding thing...

Fun fact: there is an item called PalPassiveSkillChangeTest[paldb.cc] currently lying in the item database for the game.
So perhaps they are planning on making it possible to change a Pal's Passive skills in the future...

Or maybe they'll figure out themselves that it would be pretty OP as people are saying and just leave it in the database or outright remove it again.
