Newcomers doubt (private or public play)

Hello everyone,

We are a group of three friends that are going to start playing this game today, i have some questions:

- We don't have big patience to re-build and start everything all over again many times, what's our best option here? Play only in private co-op?
- We like to play with other people for more fun and faster boss killing, but the wipe reset is indeed something we don't like.
- Is there any server that don't wipe the progress you make in the game? Or it's just the "base" you build that is wiped and everything else is kept?

I don't know if you come from WoW or w/e, but there aren't big raids like that. In addition, more players just means more people fighting for the same resource. Drops don't scale to the amount of people, so if you're trying to farm the same boss(es), you'll be doing extra work to get one person's share of drops, and these bosses/areas need time to respawn/refresh, so you should consider that.

Edit: It IS possible to share dropped blueprints, but your server would have to be willing to do so.

Official Servers get wiped every month.
It's a full wipe as far as I know: base, Pals, and characters, everything.

To avoid that, you either play on the host's single player game (set to multiplayer).

Or set up a private server for you and your friends to play anytime.
And tou can invite others.

But with Official Servers, you'd have to accept your playthrough is temporary.
They are still "experimental ".

Think of this more like Stardew Valley's multiplayer.

So, we tried to start a game yesterday and faced the same problem as all the games of this type: I created the game as a host (multi-player on), but as soon as I leave the game, my friends go down too and can't play... Two questions:

- what's the best way to deal with this, so they can play when I'm not around?

- is there any private server that we could join for chill play that doesn't get wiped?

Best way is to rent your own server. If you do it locally... with friends they can't progress unless you're online. Better to get your own server, set it up how you want it to be and then you can decide on if others are allowed to join it or not. You can password lock it ect for privacy or have it open to everyone with PVP disabled ect if you aren't looking for PVP ect either. Best way as you can decide whether you lose progress or not and with it being your own.. they can play on it without you needing to be online which is so important when it comes to this lol.

you are the host.. u are playing a co-op online. this is for all onlines with co-op options.

what you need is a dedicated server. this is just a private server were anyone can come and go. two ways. set it up on your computer(does require a good PC to run both your client and the servers) or you can rent one by paying $10-20 per month.

Avoid official multiplayer servers, they get wiped a lot and you lose your progress.
Best way to play it, is having you or someone host a server, and play with a small group of friends, or play solo (perfectly fun and viable)

Just rent a server for yourself and your friends.
3 Slots is super cheap. Public is not worth imo.
