Reinstall your steam folder on a faster drive, if you have cloud saving enabled.
(backup/rename your steam folder before doing that, and then replace the new installed folder with your old steam folder, before doing a backup make sure your games aren't installed in the default steam folder)
Or if you don't have cloud saving enabled, get a better drive for your windows.
Could be also only windows drive fault, even if you have cloud saves enabled and your steam is installed on decent drive, but windows ain't.
0 issues with game saves on my end, and it saves every 1 minute.
Also got a random crash today which can occour. I was just in the base and wanted to move somewhere :D
I also noticed that my steam is getting bugged... Like, when I exit the game, steam says that the game is still running. If I click on other games in my library, then it doesnt really load them and I have to crash Steam via the taskmanager and reopen it so it works again.
So yeah, I guess that Steam cloud is a problem somehow or so? Will test to disable it.
Last time I had issues with steam slowing down, then freezing constantly, and finally just restarting infinitely itself. I found the issue being because of the achievement log increasing to an "insane" size for what steam could handle.
steam drive:\"folder where you chose to install steam"\Steam\userdata\"3******3"\config\librarycache
achievement_progress.json
it should be less than 1MB, when the issue happened it was 90x bigger.
Steam should've though fixed it in june/july or something.
If the issue is with your existing steam folder, but not with a fresh install, then you just have to do half replacement of the fresh install (copying over) with the old files, to see when the issue starts to crop up, or do it 1 by 1 for the main folders, and then redo the the fresh install if you find the main folder where the issue starts to happen, unless it's steam setting specific.
I ll try to check them out as soon i have the real life time to do so.
so far thanks !
They also changed how the pals function in the base.
I even had to reput a palbox down to see different limits on it, as the old one was outdated.
Complaining about game performance, or weird save issues, while using mods, and not even mentioning if they do so.
Anyway.
I use UE4SS 3.0.1
And the only issue I have, and I know it's because of the ue4ss, is when you go to title menu and try to launch another game world without quitting to desktop, the game will always crash, on first launch never crashes.
I also let vortex manage it and all the other mods.
So no idea why they have saving issues, each of them probably have a different cause for their issues, as they've mentioned some differences.
it lags with mods an ue4ss, and still on a complete fresh install. both folders were deleted befor reinstall. so i'm sure. its not about ue4ss.
and my c is on a m2 device. not even a sata drive.
I can run the game fine on max settings, also beyond max as I made a graphical engine tweak "mod" where it uses lumen instead of screenspace (lumen without raytracing as it wasn't enabled when the project was made by the devs), and also uses dx12 to make use of nanite and virtual shadows, has also ultrawide support. Called "Fine Tuned Max Graphics Settings" on nexus.
Just lower your resolution and graphics settings, if that doesn't help, also lower in world settings how many wild pals are spawned at the same time, then how many pals you can have in a base, and then how many bases you can have.
after some threads on github, i found the issue. its ue4ss 3.0.1
when using the newst experimental update. the freezing is away
got the exact same problem man. i deleted all the mods and the entire folder along with any ue4ss stuff and have been playing without them because i too heard that ue4ss was the culprit. but it still lags severely. i wish they would look at the optimisation issues that have been plagueing the game since it first came out rather than pushing so much new content. whats the point if you just rubberband across the map? starts to become unplayable.
Just look here for a fix.

Not using any mods. Still got weird fps drops and stuttering here and there.
