Tarantriss is love
Web is probably the single most flexible pal feature. Shoot it on flat ground and the arachne-chan is suddenly faster than Sonic. Shoot it on cliffs and you get the closest to a climbing mount. Shoot it at the edge of a mountain and she becomes a flying spider soaring in the sky. Lovin' it!

If I'd have to point out a clear drawback, it's that attacking with weapons gets blocked by the web ability. Which can indeed be bothersome at times.

PS: I really wouldn't mind getting some real, vertically on walls 'walking' climbing mounts as pals. Think of Sneasler back in Arceus. I had hoped Tarantriss would completely fill that role. But she can and will fall off walls.

Totally agree. On another thread folks were wondering what the best dungeon mount was. I think we just got one tailor-made. I haven't tested whether the thread can reach far enough to climb the steep ledges in some dungeons, but add in Tarantriss' ability to double jump and I think it's definitely gotta be doable.

And yes, actually wall-crawling would be be awesome. And double-yes, it'd be nice if they could bind another key to allow for weapon usage, though granted, Jetragon, Mossanda, and Relaxasaurus all have the same limitation in that regard- their partner skills just happen to offensive to make up for it.
The same can be done with grapple gun and double jump?

Did I miss out any of her ability? : x

One NPC said she could fly in the air and climb the walls.

4 to 0 cooldown (if you essence her up) and way longer air time and speed

@Irene- As far as Tarantriss vs grapple gun goes, with the right passives she can scuttle about at a decent speed, she's small enough she can fit through all the openings/doorways in a dungeon (even the larger alpha version can!), and using her saves a weapon slot in your inventory for something else. If you want a dungeon-specific mount anyways, Tarantriss fills almost every need. :)

@Soul- You mentioned 0 cooldown when Tarantriss' fully essenced? Does this mean you can web-sling like spider-man? Also, does it also increase the range/length of her web? Thanks!
Heads-up for anyone still wondering, I've confirmed Tarantriss can clear the tall ledges in some dungeons. This is with an un-enhanced alpha.

It only reduce cooldown,and yeah at 4* you basically have infinite grappling,she have no cooldown,she start at 4sec and each star up remove a sec

Thanks for the info! Honestly, the lack of cooldown sounds almost OP, but I like it! Especially since I don't think it uses any stamina.
