Double-barrel shotgun - worth building?

Even with an epic blueprint, it seems to be underpowered compared to my uncommon handgun. Plus only 2 shots. Am I missing something?

It's strong, but compared to pump action, it's kind of worthless. It's another flavor of one shot basically. So if you like the musket sure. But the thing about the pump action isn't that any one blast is powerful, it's that you can rip 10 in their face in like a second.

The schematic versions are the game changer with the guns with the default being useful at first until you get something better. But they come back around with there rare schematic versions that can be found in the world with the Double Barrel doing the most damage per pellet(important to note since the game doesn't say that). Double Barrel is more useful for hunting on a budget to not use that much ammo and not need to repair your weapon that often since less rounds are needed to take down a pal than with the other shotguns. But the stock is a improvements from what came before it in terms of viability in Close Quarters Combat.
