lots of good and useful content online. the pal professor has some really nice stuff for end game. but theres tons of beginner type channels too, just make sure they are not 10 months old videos. the newer the better

Remember that you cannot build on existing ruins (which are just terrain, technically).
So when you build your bases, try to find a nice, large, flat area to build in.
I made that mistake with my first base, and it really didn't give me much room to work with.

(Also, your Palbox will serve as a teleporter, so you don't have to worry about building near any of the teleporter statues)
-----

Dungeons will open and close on timers. So don't be upset if you keep finding dungeons that are closed/sealed off. They'll re-open in time (likely a few IRL hours).

Inside dungeons, there's tons of good ores (Paldium, coal, sulfur, metal ore), often rare Pals, and a boss Pal at the end (plus two chests after the boss that give excellent loot).

So, never be ashamed to try a dungeon (be mindful of the boss level, though).
-----

Raiding bandits camps, you'll get a free Pal from the cage. No Sphere needed, nor percentage, it just auto-joins.

Supply Drops have great loot, but are guarded by two bandits. Meteors are not as helpful, but are still decently useful.

Overall, just have fun, and take it at your pace.

Just have fun.

The game is not done. It seems like it's just getting going tbh. Don't take anything too seriously, but if you enjoy grinding for eggs and such there's lot of fun to be had there. Making a custom game with wacky settings can be a great time, don't be afraid to try weird stuff.

Enjoy

Once you unlock Egg Incubators they're super useful, the pals you get from eggs you find in the wild are native to the area you found them in so you can get lategame pals much earlier than you'd be able to catch them legitimately by sneaking into high level areas, grabbing eggs and then getting out again before something attacks you.

(Also huge-sized eggs (larger than you are) usually contain boss pals so be on your lookout for those)
Tip 1: Catching Pals up up to the limit for extra EXP (It was 12 of each kind last I checked, but might be higher since last update) is probably the fastest way to level up.

Tip 2: Building a wall completely around your base will prevent raids from attacking you (at least, it has for me). Otherwise, if you don't feel you can fight them off, just teleport somewhere far away- the raid won't actually attack your base while you're gone- this has been my experience at least.
You just have to stay far away until you see a message saying the raid has been defeated. You won't get any EXP from this, but your base won't be destroyed or damaged either.

Tip 3: Sometimes it's good to give a pal two weak skills with a short cooldown (like the two-second cooldown skills) and then one big one with a lot of damage. This allows them to attack pretty often to keep enemies receiving damage more often, which can cause them to get stunned and lessen the frequency of enemy attacks.
The best short-cooldown skills are "Dragon Cannon" and "Dark Cannon", as they have cooldowns of two seconds each and both have Area of Attack/Splash Damge; in other words, even if you don't hit your target directly you can still do damage, and can also do damage to multiple targets at once. I think both of these can be found rarely on Skill Fruit Trees, or you could fin a pal that has one naturally so you only need to find one of them.
If you have a rideable Pal equipped with these skills you can attack enemies while mounted with an almost endless barrage of attacks, which works especially great for weak enemies or crowd control, plus the Dragon Cannon, as a Dragon skill, can set enemies on fire for a "Damage Over Time" effect. (Dark Cannon can cause "Blind" but I'm not sure what that does for enemies other than perhaps increase the Pal Capture Rate?)

Hope this helps! Have fun!

The only stats you need to level up are Health and Carry weight. Everything else is kind of a waste. You could put 5 levels into Stamina for the early game just to help with gathering materials yourself as that gives you an additional 50 stamina. But I would not invest any further into it than that.

Don't give the clowns free points to use anyway. That's what they want.

If you look at the above comment from me, you'll see the clown was you. People try to get free points to use. You just gave them free points.
