Pal box base size after recent update
After the recent update and with the addition of the Pal Expedition structure, I fell they have to either add increasing base size per level or just a flat pal base resize, it's needs to much bigger to have our things in, the expedition building is about a 3rd of the size, it's huge, it makes having a main base impossible. I know the idea is to have multiple bases but I am sure many of us would like a semblance of a "main base" to work out of.

What you all think?

fully supported...I always thought the space for the base was small, it would be good if the person could choose to have one large base or several small bases...
Yeah, I don't get the level system for bases if they don't also increase the size. The base should increase by about 2.5% per level.

Vertical building space is limited by how high supports will go, but it helps to cram everything into one base that way. Unfortunately most structures manned by pals still need to be on the ground level, maybe one level up, or the game still struggles with it to a degree.

i would be happy with a way to extend them, like just a "range extender" small build item or something..
maybe, for now, try building two bases just close enough so they are connected? then you get more build space, and twice as many pals can work in the 'double base' the chest contents probably wouldn't be shared unless you built the chests in the overlapped space.

honestly i'm so curious how that'll works i might try it, since i'm about to start a new game because i realized we can do a random pal map now, which sounds either really interesting or horrible. (if it puts level 55 bosses where i want my base it'll be bad)

there is a mod to increase base radius by 1.5 or 2.0 times... but it hasn't been updated since august, so, it might work, it might not... doesn't seem like it'd be a difficult thing to mod / change... but might also cause issues with pals working on the outer edge, like they already do (actually mine were working beyond the radius sometimes)

also i realized my idea of building two together might not work after all, but maybe another mod idea.... (i should learn to mod this)

Yeah, that thing is HUMONGOUS and takes up nearly 1/3 of the base's space. Unless you specifically dedicate a second base to it, there's no good way it's going to fit with all the other stuff.
Expedition structure definitely needs to be shrunk a bit thankfully its cheap enough that I can stick it in my boss base and not care if it gets destroyed

Yeah I have tried this mod, it's currently broken after the update, but I still would like something done by the devs instead of modding, I am even quite happy to have it like a % chance dungeon drop, something we have to grind for like a blueprint to make a border expansion or something. As long as we can enlarge our bases, this is more important for solo players but it would be a nice thing for all, don't wanna be teleporting around the map to do certain things on certain buildings and stations :D

That mod doesn't work anymore after this update. I used it before the update but now I can't even get into the game, I get a black screen and after a couple of minutes an error-message.

I tried to put it on 3rd floor - that thing actually goes 2 floors down.
Upgraded the base and dismantled that thing immediately...
It may be usefull (actually no idea, did not to work it), but it is NOT untill it does NOT block 1/3rd of base area and depth.

Actually a very small point sticks out three floors down
Also you use it to collect new items like cores and research papers.
I suggest you increase the amount of bases you are allowed and just have a base for it.
Yeah I was very surprised at how large it is but I guess it needs to be correspondingly large if you can send your Alpha Jormuntide through it? Would look quite silly otherwise.

I'd recommend as others have mentioned either putting it at the base you spawn your bosses or otherwise putting it at a "less used" base. My Oil-production base has more than enough space since it's almost exclusively for oil production currently.

I was fortunate enough to find a position I could plop the Expedition Hub down where it's kind of behind some buildings on an awkward chunk of land that I wasn't sure how to use, so maybe you can get lucky and find something like that. Some parts of the structure can exist outside the base without triggering the auto-decay. If it will decay, there should be a specific message saying that it will decay when you are trying to place it.

A base size increase would be nice. I would like to be able to consider something beyond how to cram everything in when building. The limit on the number of PALs is enough to keep a single base from being a win button.

Maybe an option for before you create a game that allow you to choose how big will the bases be? (An base size slider)
