True, but only the server admin can do that and they also will have to know how to do that. Also the official servers don't have it enabled, so if official servers is your thing you're out of luck.
if you cant hold me and otherplayers , we cant have the greatest pal game ever made.
a pvp deathmatch with the people and pals
a pvp full on procedural generated map/ open world weekly wipe like rust
wipes keep people playing , if you establish and do everything , you get bored and quit
Or... you and everyone else that gives a hoot about PvP can go to the designated PvP arena, and leave the rest of us be?
No separate servers needed.
Why would you want to force PvP on everyone, when most of us have our fill of fighting with the Pals and NPCs?
It wasn't cool when griefers were destroying bases and slaughtering everyone's Pals... it ain't going to be any more cool when all other players do it under the banner of "We ♥ PvP".
Do I agree with the idea of PvP servers? Sure! It's isolated the same as the Arena and lets that niche be fulfilled in the community. And it's already apparently doable in private servers, so go ham, get your Discord channels rolling. Y'all should have that experience baseline, and let it be opt-in.
What I take issue with is the idea of expanding on it much further.
Devs that have to cater post-foundation to what PvPers want tend to mutilate the PvE experience in turn (think early V Rising, pre magic update; atrocious for this because a lot of skills were objectively useless in PvE - the rebalancing and refocus on the PvE experience helped them a LOT), and Palworld being sold predominantly for its PvE aspect instantly makes me wary of PvP suggestions, community-driven ones in particular because there will always be problems with the mode.
Open World PvP in particular is rife for issues if there aren't consistent resets - Wolf and Sheep dilemma in a nutshell - and I don't think PocketPair really went into Palworld intending for an in-depth experience; not RUST, not ARK.
