Impossible Swift on Chikipi?

I've caught at least 1,000 Chikipi the last hours and for some reason, I didn't get Swift for once, as I'm planning on building a farm. I've gotten all the other passives like Vampiric, Remarkable Craftsmanship, Diamond Body etc. a few times already.

As you can't crossbreed a Chikipi, I'm forced to catch them all the time. Is my RNG just terrible or is there an actual issue in Palworld?

Just terrible RNG. It took me probably close to 3000 pals before I finally got one with swift on it.

I've noticed it seems like Swift is a lot less common than the others, but probably just confirmation bias.

Swift is much less common in my experience.
However, you don't want to know but... my second one. None since. Karma and all that.

Behold, The Swift Experience. Nah, but as a rainbow passive, it's amongst the rarest of the rare. Just keep at it and you'll get it eventually. Took me a good couple days to nab a Swift, myself.

but why would you even want swift on chipiki? It's not going anywhere.

For it to run faster to the food box, even if it's placed next to the farm.

Well, you can crossbreed them into other Pals, but Chikipi can only be bred with Chikipi. There are no other breeding combinations to breed a Chikipi, else I wouldn't be hunting them.

Ah, I see. You mean you can't breed them from other pals.
Actually though... you do have a couple options here...

1: Breed them with each other, as breeding gives a chance at random passives being assigned. Granted, there's no telling how many you'll have to breed before randomly getting a "Swift", but it's possible and a little less involved than hunting them.

2: Breed a Yakumo with "Swift". If you have anything with "Swift" already, you can go online to- "game8" I think? Just do a search for "Palworld chain breeding calculator" and you should get there. Point is, people have found ways to calculate how to breed almost any pal from almost any pal, though it may take a few "middle men" pals to get to the one you want. But if you can get a Yakumo with the passive(s) you want, you can have a higher chance at catching the Chikipi with said passive(s) due to Yakumo's partner skill.

3 (Bonus option): If you breed two bosses together you can get a Chikipi! Weird, but true (at least last time I checked). Of course, this requires that you either have bosses from before they patched the bug that let you catch them OR you install one of the mods that lets you capture them like they're normal pals. Unfortunately, short of using a Yakumo, bosses do not naturally have passives. However, if you breed to pals without passives, I IMAGINE (just guessing here) you may increase your likelihood of random passives since there is nothing to inherit from? Maybe?

but, again, why swift when you have remarkable craftsman? Fill with artisan, serious, work slave. Maybe swift could be better than serious, but it's way too much effort to try for to get very little gain.

If they want an over-powered Swift Chikipi, let 'em have one! ;)

Realistically though, since you can, after some point, breed anything from a Chikipi, I actually like to have a few with various passives handy for breeding purposes, so there's that too.

Chipiki isn't a good breeding base because of its low number. You'd have to try to retain the trait for too many generations. Mid numbers like Penking and Cinnamoth would be better choices or Yakumo, since it can put traits on anything.
