honestly the game is not that hard (except the first few levels in full random) you can distribute points however you want and it should work out, especially since you can (thankfully) reset them later.
but i would agree with drakeloreroar, attack is way more important, if you can kill the enemy in 2 or 3 shots instead of 10, it will have much less chance to attack, saving you AND your pals from damage.
early on work speed, and at least some carry weight is a LOT more convenient... but agreed not that important later on.
plus you can very much change settings and make some stats way more or less important.. especially weight, and damage settings... so if you change those settings the stats usefulness very much changes.
Carry, stamina and lastly attack are your best skills where to put point.
HP? useless. Pals do the hard work, tank mobs away from you, the occasional hit is absorbed by your shield.
Now, if you keep up decently with armor and stat boosting elixers, you eventually reach a point with almost all of your stats where you really don't need any more. You'll have thousands of health with barely any investment, more stamina than you can really spend, a weight limit only really serious mining runs can max out..
EXCEPT attack. That's the one stat you'll never, ever have too much of.
As far as usefulness goes, Health, Stamina and Weight have hyperbolic scaling, but Attack is just a straight line up.
You tend to get hit a lot and don't care about it, so health helps survival a lot.
Stamina could be considered useful by some people that love to glide or need to dodge a Lot. If you believe enemies don't attack a lot, you're probably fighting low level junk.
Weight is Really useful if you're trying to gather materials outside/want to stay outside/want to hold ammo. It's not for staying in your base.
Attack is useful if you're running gobfins. Otherwise, I guess not really. Regardless, you'd need a stack of it to make meaningful gain, which makes it Very important(if you're running gobfins).
Workspeed. Yes, it's trash for anyone except some crazy people that love to waste time doing "I can make things faster than a pal".
-----------------
Even casually running around, I get plenty of stat raising items, so stat comparison, overall, doesn't matter at all. They will all end up capping, and it's just a matter of priority.
That's why you have the dodge roll mechanic.
HP (Least)
Stamina (2nd Priority)
Carry (1st Priority)
I Have a little in work speed, but never found a use for it.
Attack (3rd Priority)
of course, again, im not out of my first world yet, and just up to after beating lily. probably will change.
although i kinda have to agree, that attack does go up slow with points, but you find potions for the stats from supply drops and such too.
