Increase Pal Box Range
Is there a way to increase the range of the Pal Box so that it covers more territory?

I'm having the problem that the pals won't go up stairs to second floors or enter rooms where there are doors (they can't reach the target), forcing me to build everything at ground level and this makes it increasingly difficult to distribute the space.

my base is built in platforms, has 4 floors (terrain + 3 going up) the pals go up all 3 no issue.

The problem is how you designed it.
The stairs should be on the perimeter of the structure (so the stairs are actually one (or all 4) the sides of the structure. This way they never get stuck, always go up. If you put the stairs inside the structure and / or at the middle of it, they never go up.

Kinda feels right for the crude oil extraction base, granted it's not the best looking base if you want something beautiful. But it work so well, i will stick to this design forever.

Tbh imo it should be increasing as you level up your palbase. I find it very annoying that the area is quite tiny for the endgame especially.

But your problem is about your building style. You need to have at least 4 wall high between layers(we have 4 and works fine), have stairs at least 2 or 3 stairs wide (I made 3 and they work fine).
Absolutely no problems with Pals to move around. The only problem is to make things neat and dandy so its not a big mess. There is no space!!! xD

The details you describe are strange and of course I didn't know them. I will try to redo my construction with floors 2x high and stairs 2x wide. I figured at least the little pals wouldn't have any trouble finding routes to a workstation in 1x1 hallways and 1x1 stairs

I'm going to have to start thinking vertically.

My fail apparently is build 1x height floors and instances with doors.

Thanks for the orientation

Yep 1x height floors are not enough, specially for big pals .
You can also consider use double large stairs but i found even astegon can go up a single one so that can be not necessary.

As rule build passages/paths much bigger than you think they can use, because usually they need much more space . Also building two structures (for example ore mine + stone) close to each other, despite there's visually enough space, can break the path, so keep always that little extra distance just to be sure.

I think it's needed. Especially with the expedition building.

Could be interesting to do it as ancient tech pylons or something that can be built in limited numbers, and that can expand your base area around where they're placed, but are also heavily targeted in raids or by bosses.
I just use a mod but eh would be nice to have the area expand to the x2 range the mod gives at max base level.
