They should just make the Item Retrieval Machine work across bases
It would be nice and make it so you don't have to go back and forth between all your bases so often to transfer materials to your production base. It would also make it so you would really only have to go to stock up food for your pals and make sure they aren't stuck leaving more time for everything else.

I guess it would make the guild chest useless but even with it I am still going back and forth way more than I'd like. That or a secondary guild chest with a different ID would be nice and more than enough. I really need to just stop playing games this way and relax, but efficiency!

With fine setup you almost never have to deal with such problems. Beside, building guild storage, item retrieval machine and big chest near to palbox allow you to transfer all you need without walking with overload across half of you base.
Its only problem if you don't put enough effort to proper setup.
Beside, item retrieval and guild storage was added to make player QoL, not for make full automation. So you don't need seach across dozens of chest to find something, and don't need to go back and forth multiple times just to get resources to build anything on new base.
I feel the item retrieval machine is way to big and not worth it. It just take up way too much space.

All my stuff is organized as efficient as possible. I keep guild chests hugging the palbox, and at the others I keep one other storage container for what they do also hugging the palbox as well so it didn't auto fill my guild chests with duplicate stacks before I even had it filled with what I needed. That and it's just convenient to pop in grab and go. I got 5 bases with 42 pals each currently, 1 for production, 1 mining, 1 farming, 1 ranching, and 1 just for oil.

I'm only really stopping at them to either feed or grab the resources next to the palbox so it's not so much the hassle as running around everywhere as I keep it as minimal as I can, as much as it is the time it takes to just do something so monotonous. Most of it is already automated, so might as well add something to prevent that because that's all it turns into once you get things up and running.

I'd totally use it if it was across all bases and not just the one it's at, so I just find it useless to even use. I also don't like how much space the expedition station takes either even when you shove most of it out the circle but what can you do right?

I feel like you're actually not that efficient if you need 42 pals per base for 210 total... Are you using a bunch of cattivas? I only need a handful of maxed out farming and ranching pals to make all the food and cake I need.

Level 57, no I'm not using cattivas. 2 of each mine up to quartz with level 3-4 miners. Ranches for pal materials for food and production, 3 oil rigs with 2 orserks (only place minus maybe ranch that doesn't have exactly 42, either way you get the point), and 4 of each food plot with level 3-4 planters/waters/boosters w.e (I know over did it).

So i'm pulling loads of resources because it's better than waiting longer, so again yes I over did it and I know this, but again it helped speed up stuff earlier than having to need all the stuff for later. So typically dump 1-2k minestrone and forget for awhile, doesn't matter though, still monotonous.

It doesn't change anything because it's the same in the end of still having to go grab this or that. All I'm saying is they should just make the item retrieval machine universal and get rid of the guild chest. That or make the guild chest act as that + what it does since all anyone just goes to a base for is the mats and to feed pals anyway typically, this just saves from having to do that other than shoving them food and forgetting.
I'd love it if they'd let us automate things more. Maybe pals could transport items to ensure the guild chest's B3 cell was 'locked' into rocks that can be refilled as needed. Then the retrieval machine would act like an upgrade to efficiency, since the transport pals could almost work in place when not dealing with loose ground items like ranch pals. We literally have the technology in-game to make it happen, its just a matter of 'is it good for the game?'

By level 60, why am I still doing dirty work? I gotta empty my guild box to make room for my massive rock loads so my ranch base can grind paldium or do it all on-site, which I'll still need to make room for the excessive paldium loads.

God forbid you're playing without fast travel like me

See you get it, it's pretty annoying. Is it a minor inconvenience? Yep, but it's an unnecessary one I think when most of the game is already automated. I'd be just happy even if they allowed pals to be able to transport from base to base, maybe have a caravan station. Maybe have a risk tied to it and a timer so it's not instant, but if it's something I can control just from one base, I'm all for it, I don't care how they implement it. We already have to control each production object, it'll just save us more time from the monotony.

I couldn't imagine playing without fast travel though on a game like this and lugging all those resources around lol...screw that. I'd definitely have to build my bases to work better around that if I did to minimize travel even further, but it sounds interesting haha, more power to ya!
Screw that.
Might as well just give infinite items and remove literally all challenge from the game if they pull that nonsense.

Seriously, how hard is it to walk like 10 steps to drop off supplies between bases?
You can even teleport between bases. Not exactly difficult to drop off food real quick, then back to what you were doing.
"Here's 100 salads for you guys. You guys are set for days. Now to get back to condensing that one pal."

Even building a base was easy.
Build one chest near the Palbox, load up on a ton of materials (way over your weight limit), teleport to the second base, deposit the stuff, and you're good to start building.

I've yet to employ a guild chest or retrieval system (haven't unlocked those yet), but they're not exactly vital things to have. I suppose the retrieval system is useful to avoid scouring all chests for something (especially for those pesky Other Materials), but is pretty useless to a player that's even remotely organized.
Personally only my main base has storage except for a guild box. Ingredients and food that spoil stay at the farming base in a small box and a fridge.

That will give you everything but food and ingredients at all bases. Can hit C when looking at a chest to change what they can and can not have.

My thoughts exactly, screw this mode lmao but it was the only server doing real HC at the time and then I got morbidly curious to see if I'd learn anything... Q.Q it's a miserable experience but I'm in too deep. At least Dogen still works and I did learn a few tricks... I don't recommend unless you a masochistic mf.

I have no idea why you need that much. I only have 1 production base with 1 mine for each resource and already have like 300k for each resource. I can build more, but why? You never use this much anyway.
Eh it's already halfway there at the current stage. If the only chest in a base is the guild chest, pals will dump stuff in there. My mine base, oil base, and farm base all dump their stuff and my craft base can use them straight away. I also have guild chest hugged to item retriever at craft base to quickly empty it and also have some storages filtered for those things nearby should they overflow. The only times when I have to visit those bases are when they run out of food, which is like once a real-time week thanks to those 9999 fried chikipi stacks.

Other than the excess wood and food, I pretty much use everything else actually. It just means less time I need to even be at the base.

Yeah I kind of figured that about the priorities over other container but I guess I really should just take some of the stuff out and shove it in another container at my production base to save more time and just get rid of other containers at the others. Spose least that way they can go ahead and just fill the guild chest up which would just mean way less trips as long as I give them tons of food. I thought about just using fried chikipi because it lasts 20 minutes don't it?
