On the other hand, I agree with shared map visibility within the guild. Like you'd be able to share maps with guild members, but there would still be places, that the guild (any member) should have to visit to uncover.
Something similar to Valheim would be nice. You put down and exploring table, everyone register his exploration progress and can learn other players exploration and the map visibility open based on that.
No cheats, no frills, just a QOL
I don't know Valheim, haven't played that one. But yea, sounds like a nice idea with a crafting station, or something to enable guild shared maps.
Having the whole map visible from the start would however be quite cheaty. That was my point. Doing some stuff within your guild, or perhaps locked behind some level to share maps? YES. Having the whole world visible from the start? Hell NO.
I mean, imagine you are a longterm player and you are able to introduce a friend to the game.
How overwhelmed would your friend be if the map would insatnly be unlocked? That takes the fun of exploring. But that's for everyone themselfs to decide. For my first playthrough I went halfway through the game and then someone came and sent me a map online. That was good and bad at the same time for me.
But yeah, there are other things with the map I want to see improved. Like, why is there no counter visible on the map when we kill a pal in his area? With his area I mean those dungeons that have a 60min respawn time after their death.
It makes everything a bit weirder.
Um I think you are all missing the point, the game already has built in CHEATING lol. I can max out experience gains and level almost instantly. I can adjust my world settings at ANY TIME. Drop rates, build bases anywhere. And you want to call Map Visibility Cheating? LMFAO. The game is designed for you to taylor the ENTIRE GAME, to how YOU want to play. Feel like the game is slowing down, I buff my EXP, hatch some eggs, get that tech you want a little faster, and lower again and carry on. I am actually shocked that people would be against this as a QoL feature. Maybe you have played the game a dozen times through, like me, and you know the layout, this just saves wandering around to light up the map.
Simple, Not a cheat in any form or fashion, has almost NO bearing on the game itself unlike the other options you can tweak at will.
