Oil rig 3 loot IS NOT WORTH IT
I did the entire oil rig, destroyed all the turrets and anti-air lasers

killed every single person

and then killed the attack helicopter.

My reward is 2 ancient civilization cores, rare plasma cannon schematic, 2 burden lotuses and some measly oil, lol. Oh and some 20 plasma cartridges but it costed well over 100 of those just to get the reward in the first place.


after like 50 times trying and failing I had to basically "cheat" by setting my damage to x5 and setting their damage to x0.1 if I did this as intended 1:1 or on hard 1:2 this is literally impossible and the loot is not even remotely worth this.


Not to mention the mini chests around the oil rig aren't even worth it it's some training manuals and a giant pal soul, lol.

Why is this oil rig so dis-proportionally hard when it has such weak loot? this feels like I should be level 200 not 60 to beat this.

Yeah, I've run into it with "perfect" pals made via the creative mod, and with max tier equipment, and still found it to be unbeatable with the default difficulty settings. I think some of the content is very heavily scaled towards multiplayer.

It's kind of meant for 3 to 5 players, increase the damage you do by 3 to 5 in the world settings and it becomes playable. The chopper is really bad though, you kind of need a flying pal to fight it directly but then the towers shoot you if they're still alive and it's just a whole thing.

Anyway got there to open the purple chests, got legendary armor out of the purple chests and a pretty bad common plasma cannon blue print that's too expensive to bother making.

It's totally doable with default settings, i didn't change anything there. You need a lot of rockets, a lot of +25% atk meal and potions, and a team of pals that boost your atk and def.
You'll do it all by yourself since your pals are kinda bugged there and didn't attack.

But i agree : the rewards are pathetics, i did this station twice, the first one i spend so many time on cleaning the station, then the helicopter, and i didn't have enough autoguided rockets, so it was long... the rewards were so bad, but i tried a 2nd time in case i was unlucky the first time with the rewards... No, they're juste so bad... x)
People need to remember (even if they dont like it) that the oil rigs sicne the beginning were RAID tier content.
They were made with idea of multiple players doing em together.

Is it ideal? not really, but thats how they are intended to be done.

See the thing is the loot is just godawful. What you said is great in theory but in execution the loot is almost identical to the 100x easier oil rig 2, with only a couple mediocre exclusive schematics to its name. For it to be worth doing even with a full team of dudes you would honestly need to make it give 10 times the loot and have legendary schematics 10 times more likely, or something, with the difficulty its at.
everyone saying it's meant for 3 to 5 players, well why is the loot garbage?
This reward isn't appropriate for 1 person with this high level of difficulty.

forget 3 to 5 people.

I get more value out of expeditions.

The lvl 60 oil rig is garbage, it's not just the loot. Cost to benefit ratio is WAY off. Even with 4 maxed out GobFins to help your damage you're spending way more in ammo than what you bring back. NOTHING in the game should require a meta build, it feels like crap only having a Jet Dragon as a useful pal that I can't even bring out because the minigunners will kill him before I realize he's being shot.

The experience from the mobs is terrible, the experience of going their is terrible, the helicopter is fine actually, kind of fun, but it's SOOOOOOO damn expensive and has the HP of an Ultra Boss. This would be fine if it had better drops but the legendary drop rate is so absurdly low and most of them (sans the bow) are such garbage that fighting for them makes NO sense.

Plasma Cannon goes from 11000 (green) to 11500 (blue) to 12000 (purple) to 13000 (legendary) (less than 10% increase per level). The mats, repair costs, and ammo are not worth it. Same with the laser Gatling as it goes from 609 (blue) to 689 (Legendary).

So.... you can't run it to mass level pals because you need 1 pal to get there, and 3-4 gobfins to keep you from hemorrhaging ammo. Even then, the XP is worse than boss rushing (either hitting a tower boss over and over, or running Alpha's), the loot is worse than supply crates, the fights are harder than Hard Mode bosses, and the final boss has the hit points of an Ultra boss.

It has a couple of exclusive items but the drop rates are so absurdly low that you're literally talking 1000's of runs for a reasonable drop chance...

Why the f' does the lvl 60 Oil Rig exist? Everything about it is overtuned garbage.

Try bringing/breeding a pair of Bellanoir Libero for this. She's an absolute BEAST for this content.

Two Bellas make this content VERY soloable, in my experience. Just bring something else for the boss chopper, because her Nightmare Stare won't reach.
I think the content difficulty is fine, and I actually rather enjoy it. It would be a tough solo, especially without gobfins, but doable with care and prep. (I was very hyper lategame in Sakurajima, so was pretty ready for feybreak challenges)
the helicopter is fine if you blast it with multi-homing missiles

My issue is with the terrible drop rates on legendary schematics. I don't care if it was an undefended island, expecting me to swim out there 150ish times to get a schematic with a 0.75% drop rate is unreasonable

its end game content i understand but the balancing doesnt make any sense,
the scaling is off the chart and u cant even use pal and we know why is that,
it should be doable without spaming your whole stock of ammo just for garbage loot,
Since we got the setting why not let people go beyond that to make it hard rather than making default pain in the arse to farm,its idiotic

Use max rank felbat leech with rockets and its pretty easy. Killing everything is kind of a waste of time though, rush chests, rocket clumps of enemies for hp, use galeclaw and grapple for movement.

Multi guided missle is the best way to fight the boss.

Ya the 60 rig needs work, its brutal and the new legendary weps are pretty mid.
