Base Building.... kinda meh
so u can build a tiny little base with lets say 20 pals.
these pal get stuck on everything.
so lets build another base for ore, farming plots and so on
but then the engine and rendering is killing you. because no continue of work.

whats the point in having more bases? this game mechanic is awful and unplayable

Never had the issues you are describing so.....maybe its just you and your PC that has issues handling more assets and rendering?
Point of having multiple bases is for resource farming IMO.
No one spot is plentiful in everything.

I have my main base i built in a nice scenic location, a Base built for purely mining like 8 Metal ore rocks, One that does only coal, one for quartz, one for sulfur, and one that's just a Massive Farming base to produce all the various crops.

One spot just cant house all the things you need. Plus its bonus Fast travel locations between FT statues.

Not sure what you mean by the engine and rendering kill you, if the bases are far apart they wont be rendered. And if having multi bases is impacting your game then that's not the games fault that sounds like a processing limitation on your end.

Yep, these have been my frustrations exactly, since launch.

He's referring to work not being done while the bases are not being rendered.

Pals don't get stuck in nothing, if they do, you build you base in the wrong way.
You need to anticipate pals size, so spread out the stuff, leave enough space for pathing.

Just picture the base in your head before place anything, thinking you need to leave enough space for bigger pals to move

Its not just him. If your base goes into stasis because no player has rendered it in too long, your pals will A.Stop working and get 'stuck' while not rendered. B. Starve because they continue to work and can't path to foodbox. or C. Both, and get sick in the process.
The base circle needs to be AT LEAST 25-33% bigger, if not 50%. and base stasis needs to be fixed. this has been an issue since day 1 for servers and i guess now singleplayers are finding it too (was told by a SP on my thread about this earlier this week).

And yes, this is even in a base that works fine while your sitting at it watching.

its like many other games that did it wrong if u leave render distance pals stop working and getting freezed.

All these types of threads have one common theme; Can refute one or all of the claims in relation to my own single-player game.

Not everyone is having issues, or even the same issues. So its all merely speculation and hearsay; claiming "It's pathing" or "base stasis" isn't contributing to solving the problem.

Long term we'd all be be better served if people having trouble gave actual objective information in relation to the problem
ie; "My mining base I hadn't visited in 48 RL hours with 4 t3 miners and 3 haulers with boxes at a central location with the food crate barely collected any mats. Here is a screenshot of the base"
or, "I have 2 berry farms and 30 pals, came back after work and they had all starved."

Or, you know, continue not giving actual feedback to avoid finding the actual problem.

Not a personal attack, Lyrdian. Just happened to drop a cluster bomb after passing your post. =)

Having to build and take into account the size of pals is all good.

The problem is the AI pathing is trash in this game. Even with a proper base setup this still happens.

Why do players keep bring what u said up. When it's been reported countless times the pathing is garbage and still getting reported to this day. I get taking pal size into account. Even when u do pathing is still a problem

This has been a problem sense day 1 of EA release. And still is

Ok, except if you do a simple google search you will see that there are several issues, and the base stasis one has been confirmed since day 1? And we have been giving feedback, and giving feedback. and asking. and telling. and asking. and telling.
So here you go. My base on a dedicated server has 20 pals - 6 miners, 2 harvesters, 2 growers, 2 waterers, 1 kindle, 1 electric, 1 rancher (chicken), 5 haulers. I have 2 berries, 2 tomato, 2 wheat and 1 lettuce farm.
When im in my base, my food stores slowly go up, my ore/coal go up. If i leave my base and go sit at the other base on the opposite side of the map, that base will continue to work for a time, as i can see the ore/coal still stacked up a ways. But my pals are now starving WITH PLENTY OF FOOD IN THE BOX, even if its raw. and they are depressed. usually this is within an hour or so.
Again, a simple google search brings up several dozen different places where this has been documented, with more or less info that i just gave.

People keep saying this and every time it's a skill issue, I have over 40 pals in one base and I don't have this issue because I you know, build with the pals in mind.
Devs: "We're aware of pathing issues and are always trying to improve it"
Patchnotes: every so often more 'fixes' to pals getting stuck
Random elitist ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on the internet: "Skill issue, git gud, my pals never get stuck"

When the devs acknowledge the issue but random internet dude nr3873634 knows better.
