Default Settings for Bases

I've always played on a custom difficulty and had been thinking about trying a world where I just did Normal or Hard, when I noticed the max base Pals is 15... Was it always 15?? And 4 Bases?
I thought it was 3 Bases with 20 - when did it change, or is my brain making stuff up?? 15 feels a lot harder to handle than 20 I spent a considerable amount of time scheming for 5 more Pals per base than available. Should I just accept I'm a custom settings person? Or should I just keep loosing my stuff all the time because my IQ matches the shape of the sun, rather than the brightness?

Pretty sure it was always 15 without changing settings, but yes we can have 4 bases now instead of 3.

The default limitations for number of pals and bases are designed for people with potato PCs and multiplayer servers.

I personally increase the number of pals as my needs require, as well as the number of bases to 4 for now, which will mostly be mining zones. I also increased the XP multiplier a bit.

It all depends on the limitations you want to put on yourself when playing.
