Chromite and Hexolite farming

TLDR: Any chromite farming tips?

Does anyone else find it exceedingly annoying to farm chromite?
You need large amounts of it endgame, particularly to make hexolite for the weapons and ammo.

It can only be found in caves and dungeons, and you can only carry a small amount each time before you hit carrying capacity and go back to base.

The back and forth for the farming is really annoying for me and honestly I might just stick to blowing everything up with rockets.

You can also get Chromite semi-passively from the Feybreak expedition, once you defeat Bjorn and Bastigor, which should net 30-50 pieces per expedition.

Another source is Eternal Pyre Black Market expedition, unlocked by Axel and Orserk on Hard, but this one nets slightly less Chromite.

Chromite exists in the overworld as well, just not EVERYWHERE. I always noted down their location with a pickaxe icon on my map, sadly none of the places I found were convenient for farming (most of them were close to Feybreak missile bases though so keep that in mind)

(Beating the boss and unlocking the expedition kinda makes it redundant either way, I'm on vanilla settings and with maxed out expedition research I'm getting expedition times of 10 minutes)
