Such as Lily's group don't believe any of her Pal-loving, human-hating, beliefs.
Zoe's group barely tolerate her at all, and will kill her the instant they think they're strong enough to.
And as far as we know, Axel (Eternal Pyre boss) is a mysterious rapper that just seeks an epic fight.
He outright says, "I don't care 'bout they type, ain't nobody gonna beat my hype. "
In other words, he doesn't care that his group loves fire, he prefers "lightning".
dang, thats a low bar.
This would explain why Axel uses a Pal that is better suited for powering advanced technology, instead of one that burninates the countryside, peasants, and thatch-roof cottages.
Pals don't decompose, yet we see giant pal bones all over the place.
I'd also add, the game kind of set you up to expect a twist. You can't really know what to expect with Zoe assuming you go in totally blind. Then, you go to an icy mountain and fight, a grass type? That should be a clue just because you are expecting fire, doesn't mean that's what you are going to get.
I'm pretty sure that this wasn't a thing some patches ago and it give more color to the game!
I think the final boss will be a kid in a red cap
Y'all reading the logs at all?
I'll spoil quite a bit, but everything I'm referencing will be from Zoe's, Bjorn's, and Saya's logs scattered in-game:
Bjorn's logs state that he asked Zoey's father to do something. Bjorn expressed surprise when the man accepted. What this something was wasn't specified, but Zoey mentions he disappeared suddenly at some point. We don't know any more, but Zoey's father is MIA; presumed dead, maybe attempting to leave through the storm Frostallion created.
>>> Zoey was kept around because the syndicates respected her father and barely tolerated her. She gained their respect when she fought them over the poached Grizzbolt and won. Her strength put them in place, as observed by Sayla in her observations.
This actually ties really well into what I originally wanted to add from GespenstKAF's post regarding Axel, I forgot about that bit when reading through Saya's logs. More spoilers:
During Saya's observations, she mentioned that the volcano people had suddenly become active and started a turf war against the Pal GRU. I'll quote the log this time:
I think this adds to the theory that it was Axel who left. Maybe his rap was entirely directed at Victor? Who knows.
Its a lot more complicated than that, Zoey touches upon it on entry 3 and you have to read into the sanctuarys a bit deeper. This post is already too long tho and others have iterated it better than I ever could.
And it sounds like it's gonna be pretty intense, when they finally do add it.
It'd actually be so hype if Red...cap catches it last second and you have to duel him to become the strongest
