Yakumo odds?
What are the odds a fully condensed Yakumo passes on all traits? I'm bad at math and was just wondering, because I haven't gotten all 4 once. wouldn't it be .3x.3x.3x.3 = .0081? So... 8.1% chance? Or .81% chance?
Either way it just isn't happening for me :sadcyclops:

Several different sources on Google:

-Yakumo's Partner Skill, “Birds of a Feather,” offers a 15% inheritance chance at level 1, which increases to 30% at level 5. This means when Yakumo is your active partner during Pal captures, there's a chance they'll inherit its passive skills

-A maxed star Yakumo should give a 30% chance of its traits (1 trait per 30%) given to the captured pal.

-Yakumo's passive, “Birds of a Feather,” grants a 30% chance for captured Pals to inherit Yakumo's traits.

Also, make sure Yakumo is the pal active, it's not enoguh to be in party, it must be out when you capture the pal you want to pass the traits

Yes. With it out its 30% for a trait then rolls for the next to the next to the next.(topleft first Bottom right last)

You got the math idea right, OP. Assuming the true rate at 4 stars is 30% per skill, it'd be (0.30)^4, or 0.0081, which translates to less than 1% (0.81%).

Math Translation Edit: SO, if you captured 1000 Pals using Yakumo's ability, you'd get about 8 Pals on average with all 4 of Yakumo's skills inherited.

Thanks all :loveyou: At least it's just the odds and not something dumb I'm doing, I have a bad habit of missing important info and wondering why it's not working :sadstar2022:

It's actually even lower than 0.81%. That's because wild Pals have a fair chance to have a passive when captured and these do not become overwritten by Yakumo's

Source?

Don't hope for the lucky 4 trait inherit. You just want to expand your available traits and then breed them together. It's cool if you get multiple but I would just have 2 trait yakumos instead. 9% for the double is alright and you have a decent chance to just get both traits in the pool. Also you can always find 2 trait combos you want on certain types anyway, e.g. legend/serenity on a combat pal or runner/swift on a mount, while 4 trait combinations are generally more restrictive.

Uh, about that... I'm going for a perfect-passives human. So inheritance has to be all at once. (I know it isn't worth it. I'm stubborn and really want to anyway :slimetabby:)
On the flipside, I've gotten a few 3's already. Plus I'm just far enough along I can spend the Spheres on this and I've never had so much gold before.

The source is myself and theory crafting. In fact you can very easily confirm yourself by capturing legendaries that have two passives automatically. They will never be replaced by Yakumo's ability. In fact it's very obvious that's the case because they will always appear first

Four passives Yakumo is still very valuable and useful to have. Only one to condense to level 5, and all you need to do is catch a bunch of the same Pal you want until you have the four passives obtained, then breed them accordingly. It's also very useful to have one with 4 of the best passives for general combat purposes and keep it at hand whenever a lucky pal appears

Does Yakumo affect pals hatched from wild eggs? (I know breeding eggs inherit from the parents of course.)

I haven't seen any effect despite trying when I get the chance, but I can't fully write off my bad luck. I think I've read somewhere before that Yakumo only effects what you catch with Spheres unfortunately
