"Can be ridden as a flying mount. Increases the damage dealt to ores, and you can obtain more Ore while mounted."
there 2 "ore" in the description. one is "ores" and the other is "Ore".
so for what i'm reading is:
you can ride this pal and on its back, nuke any node you see and you get more "basic ores" from basic ore nodes. not coal, sulfur or anything else.
i would be less confusing if the basic ore nodes was name "iron" nodes or something a like.
(i would be nice if its on every nodes but its still a great passive)
its still worth the effort to have a max out astegon.
i crafted one myself, she not perfect, her iv need work. but she a %__AF=<? workhorse when i need her. nuking any node i see and then some to the poor saps that think a good idea to fight her.
Its a bug, im quite sure of it, theres no purpose to such a trait existing on a nearing-endgame Pal.
let me go point by point.
let start with farming hexolite. there not a lot of options. you make a max damage astegon to nuke a crystals one at a time or you make a base just to grind the crystals with astegons since hes the only pal that reasonable to grind for mining 5.
as for "i have access to better Pals" bit. we are taking about a pal with 100 base HP and 125 base on both ATK and DEF for a total BST of 350. its a bit downplaying when you think twice about it since we are at the range of the top 20 best pals in the game.
sure his as slow as a grandmother but going fast is not the point of a astegon. its destruction. and personally its perfect at its job.
as for the extra Ore stats. its not a bug but i will agree is a bit dumb. a buff to work on every mineral (with the exception of chromite) would be acceptable. and if a rework needed it need to be related to destruction.
I've been feeding a level 55 astegon skill fruits (about 20 so far) to test all kinds of attacks and here are the preliminary results.
Electricity, water, and dark do the least damage; neutral and fire do slightly more, but none I've tried are worth writing home about.
Some grass attacks do almost none, but seed machine gun and multicutter are ok; machine gun is good for its multiple concentrated hits, which are on the weak side but it also has a short cooldown relative to the more effective attacks below.
Iceberg is good but only does one hit; diamond rain can be good but it's an inconsistent area attack.
Dragon attacks that have a physical component are good. Astegon leans firefist breathstorm, which does two punches and a multihit breath attack, at 35. A one-star Astegon at lv 55 will break down a hexolite quartz spire about half the time in just one attack.
The best attack I've found so far is rockburst, which I learned from a skill fruit. hover up right next to the spire and hit it with a rockburst, and it will shatter in one hit nearly every time.
