And if you think further, Pokemon will get bombed too, because they use some Ideas of other older games, like Shin Megami Tensei or Dragon Quest. They have probably no chance to win this, so Palworld will be fine.

Gen 7 pokemon, all of the new game mechanics were outright stolen from Yokai Watch.
If Nintendo wins this then Level-5 should sue them.
bro, all those listed games are already lining nin's pockets, what you need to know is that palworld isn't directly published or developed by nin nor do they pay them anything.

the case could just be to trample the opposition even if it means throwing money at the issue, or they could get royalties or penalties from pal if they win.

But why it took them this long?
Afaik the stone-throw-monster-catch patent was filed after Palworld was already publicly marketed, so only based on this it should be really hard for nintendon't to have any solid ground. It's like they were intentionally preparing to attack Pocketpair from the beginning.

Court cases are rarely determined by what is right and wrong, it's all down to whoever has the most money to drag litigation on for as long as possible before one side decides to cut their losses.

If they have the choice between paying Nintendo $100,000 and changing Pal Spheres to cubes to get around a vague patent, they will take that instead of spending millions on legal fees and dragging out proceedings over several years.

I feel this might be one of the few cases Nintendo loses, just due to the fact this much time has passed and the reasoning is questionable at best.

Then again, Corporations gonna Corpo. Might end up being a big nothingburger, or Nintendo is gonna line their pockets further. The game will stay, regardless.

I think what you're over looking is this isn't about design it's a patent lawsuit, we don't know what the patent is yet and thus we can't say how legitimate the lawsuit is yet.

Not only marketed, they just recently patented capturing creatures in balls and using them to fight. So recently as to be AFTER Palworld's RELEASE. So it looks like they patented it solely to take down Palworld. Any reasonable court would strike that down in the first instance, no matter the country.

Because they need to prepare theirs kangaroo lawsuit , recently in May they patented many things and they use it to sue Palworld .

Nintendo never goes after big targets, only small developers. They have been doing this ♥♥♥♥ for years going all the way back to 1987 with the great giana sisters

Pokemon also copied the ''Mega Evolution'' concept from Digimon
