Doesn't matter what you're buying, what I told you was a fact. I never messed around back there, I just told you what was in the patch notes. Do with that as you will.

I'm going to be blunt here but don't take it personally. As a "real gamer" myself, I had no problem navigating the area the way it was designed upon release. Stamina is obviously the way to go for the first few points once you notice that climbing uses stamina. I had no problem climbing out after exploring the area. No "real gamer" should be having an issue here.
Edit: The actual reason they blocked it is because if you don't put your first point or two into stamina, you couldn't get back up, so players got stuck. I'm also pretty sure that was by design, a tutorial of sorts. I assume a lot of threads like this caused them to change it because people couldn't handle losing those first 5 sticks and a few rocks.
Little did they know that by blocking off the path, they'd make players even more curious about what's back there and so here we are lol. Quite hilarious actually.
You were right? Read the patch note again and then read what I said.
Looks pretty similar to me, no big conspiracy here.
Someone writing paragraphs in a forum, the nerve! Settle down bruh, you'll be aight. You got out and all is well, you aren't the first cat that curiosity killed, you wont be the last.
They just made it more likely for players to get stuck in there. I have to wonder about these devs some times.
Edit:
You do have to find the right spot to climb on the original wall to get out so you have barely enough stamina but I guess I could see how impatient people wouldn't find the way out. Still they could have fixed it by adding some rubble at the bottom so you start out a bit higher.
But even if you do get stuck down there, you just started, it's not like you have anything to lose by just letting the pals kill you and respawning at the default spawn point.
With pillars I bet it's even better since you can actually connect higher levels to the ground now.
