Trapped inside starter area
I was exploring the starter area like a true gamer and I found a way down to what I realise is the starter beach area + the dungeon next to it, but now that I've cleared the dungeon and climbed the path towards where you first spawn I can't get back. I'm looking around the cliffs for a way to climb back up but it seems like I'm stuck. Why is this entire area cut, and why do you get teleported from the starting beach to where you start the game?

They actually blocked it off to prevent players from getting stuck there lol. You'll have to try and swim around I assume, been a while so I don't know exactly how it looks there. You're gonna have to be creative like a true gamer. :)

"prevent players from getting stuck there" I don't buy it, there is literally only 1 spot that might confuse a few people on how to move forward (considering it's broken wall with "climb me" rocks on it but it's 90% 1 straight path, an 8 year old Ipad child could navigate this

I had a base in that area. I was able to climb out.

I found a hole you can climb through. No idea why they did this though.

Doesn't matter what you're buying, what I told you was a fact. I never messed around back there, I just told you what was in the patch notes. Do with that as you will.

Blocked the back of the starting area with rocks to prevent players from getting lost or stuck

The given reason and the actual reason can be different. Either way I hope in a future patch they'll fix this area up properly, the current way this "issue" was dealt with is extremely sloppy and im betting took more effort than designing a proper pathway

I'm going to be blunt here but don't take it personally. As a "real gamer" myself, I had no problem navigating the area the way it was designed upon release. Stamina is obviously the way to go for the first few points once you notice that climbing uses stamina. I had no problem climbing out after exploring the area. No "real gamer" should be having an issue here.

Edit: The actual reason they blocked it is because if you don't put your first point or two into stamina, you couldn't get back up, so players got stuck. I'm also pretty sure that was by design, a tutorial of sorts. I assume a lot of threads like this caused them to change it because people couldn't handle losing those first 5 sticks and a few rocks.

Little did they know that by blocking off the path, they'd make players even more curious about what's back there and so here we are lol. Quite hilarious actually.

All of this typing to confirm you knew I was right the whole time? I know you're "being blunt" but even pretending to be dumb you seem to enjoy typing paragraphs

You were right? Read the patch note again and then read what I said.

Looks pretty similar to me, no big conspiracy here.

I just tested it on a new world and you have just enough stamina to climb the old wall at level 1. You also have enough to climb into that area at level 1 still but you can't climb back out unless you know how to find the right spot to rest near the top.

They just made it more likely for players to get stuck in there. I have to wonder about these devs some times. :htsmug:

Edit:
You do have to find the right spot to climb on the original wall to get out so you have barely enough stamina but I guess I could see how impatient people wouldn't find the way out. Still they could have fixed it by adding some rubble at the bottom so you start out a bit higher.

I think they also wanted new players to go forward and set up first base around the fast travel statue and area below it, rather then turn around and end up putting their first base on the beach or some out of the way place like that.

But even if you do get stuck down there, you just started, it's not like you have anything to lose by just letting the pals kill you and respawning at the default spawn point.

The first thing I did when I first played the game was build a base in there and make a stairway down that one wall. :qp:

With pillars I bet it's even better since you can actually connect higher levels to the ground now.
