The submachine gun that is the "saddle" for the lifmunk has nothing to do with any of your weapons or ammo that you have. If I recall correctly, you "ride" it like any other pal with a saddle and then the LMB is used to fire the lifmunk submachine gun. So to be clear, the animation shows you holding the lifmunk kind of under your arm and it blasting away at stuff you point it at.
edit: nvm he just fires a very tiny barely noticeable burst with the crossbow.
Is this a lucky lifmunk? The hit box and how you hold the larger version of the lifmunk is completely messed up. Really only works for the normal version.
Interesting. I've probably never used this one correctly. I have seen it bug out for me though, so maybe that was a rare problem and not something seen often. The game is of course still early access. Not uncommon for some things to be poorly documented or not work correctly for some systems.
Yeah, if you use a bow and hold the arrow without firing, lifmunk will fire until spent, if you use a machine gun, it fires at the rate you do.
probably best to look at what swings the fastest if you want to do damage without spending bullets yourself
I've always fired it I think will holding a spear or pick. Never had any idea it was tied to my fire rate. Seems like a dumb way to make it work, would never suspect it would work that way.
