also only foxparks or Roobys...
but yes , most of the huge or large eggs were collected in starting area or llv ~20 areas.
So this could be an reason
One high level I try to get soon is the Jormuntide Ignis. I used to find eggs for this near the shore on the SE side of the volcano. Very rare there, but could be found. The pal itself is not found there though. So there are a few exceptions. The pal is now only found in Wildlife Sanctuary #2. I think at around level 40 or so. Recently that is where I tamed it. Have yet to find an egg for it, so maybe this has changed.
All the different types of elements for pals are found all over the map. What actual type of pal you get varies from biome to biome (and of course area level too).
For instance like you said, foxparks and rooby fire pals in the starter areas. Gobfin Ingis on the volcano.
One new one that they added that is in both low level areas and high level areas is the Croajiro. I've yet to figure out what it is best to use it for, but it has a very unique partner skill.
Eggs obtained from breeding depends only on the parents (and usually inherit a few random skills from them) and can occasionally be Alpha (which turns them huge even if they'd normally be normal or large).
Eggs obtained from a nest encounter will always be whatever species the pals guarding the nest was.
par example the volcano area fire eggs, collected east beach area , only large or huge.
normaly i would say , midtier fire pals should be in the eggs.
but i only got start pals ...
always bad luck ?
If I recall, I get mostly Kelpsea Ignis in the volcano area, The Kelpsea Ignis are not starting pals. They have a great partner skill that when included in your party boost the attack of another fire pal like the Vanwyrm or Ragnahawk that I also find over there.
Maybe you can say what it is you think are these starter pals? This game has way more depth than it appears at first. Pals that seem useless actually can be one of the best pals to get once you know how to use their abilities.
