Forcing new character creation on dedicated server

After the new update, our dedicated server is forcing everyone to create a new character , no matter which backup save data i use.
help?

Also experiencing this issue. Hope a solution is posted that can help. I see threads noting similar problems from players dating back to the release of the game.

There used to be a save game toolkit that you could repair the saves. But it doesn't work with anything with sakurajima content on it. Tried with my backup saves and the only ones that will load are from before sakurajima

Dunno if it would be any help, but throwing it out there. After needing to use backup save data after a power outage, I messed up and didn't match the local and player save data. This had me making a new character with my map data still uncovered, though fast travel locations weren't discovered. Matching the local and player save data afterwards fixed the issue.

I ended up going way back and finding an old save file that happened right before the update and that fixed it. the update caused data corruption with the server. so keep your Saves folks, especially around update time! Yea any save file from after the update was corrupted.
