Crude oil farming really is broken.
Even with 2 Orseks powering 2 generators with an electric pylon, they still can't get me a single barrel of oil in a day. It's far too slow and far too power hungry. I get that we got a 4th base in the last update, but the whole mechanic of needing a single base to farm a single resource efficiently is stupid. At this point, I would rather just put the drop rate at 3x and farm mobs for resources.

The longer I play this game, the more I feel it's becoming less pokemon and more ARK, which I really don't like that.

Are you using the level 2 generators?
Reaper Jul 2, 2024 @ 9:42pm
No, they're both level 1, but it really isn't balanced when a single level 1 generator with a pylon can power a conveyor belt and 2 electric furnaces with no issue, yet 2 generators with level 4 pals can't power a single oil pump.

You kind of need to breed a orzerk with artisan/work slave/nocturnal minimum. It will be able to power 2 oil extractors by itself. If you get it to level 5 electric generation, it can power 4.

It is balanced because you're supposed to use the better generator. You're trying to make a potato electric generator work. The Conveyor belt also aint active 24/7. Neither is the electric furnace.

Just get the new generator and have it run like 2 oil pumps at the same time.

Looks like the Orzerk is a level 4 electric generator. That is probably the best there is.

I tamed some Helzephyr Lux to run the generator. They have the advantage of being dark/electric, so no need for the nocturnal passive. I saw a video where someone used 2 or 3 of them and they seemed to work well. Maybe not as good as the Orzerk. Probably easier to tame than the Orzerk (well not as rare). I've yet to try these, hoping they will do the job though.

I have the upgraded generator, 2 orzerk and 1 oil pump and it's like maybe 7-8 crude oil per in game day which is freakishly slow.

There is a 3 node oil spot but just the one the thing is you need it to get any reasonable amount of crude oil even then it costs a considerable amount of resources and time to build.

Oil pumps need a gigantic buff, 3x more minimum to feel satisfying because at the moment it feels like a purposeful road block to slow progress and nothing more.

Love a lot of things in the update but crude oil is not one of them.

You must construct additional pylons.

I have 2 Orzerk on a single new generator and can keep up with 3 oil extractors. They are 4 star, with artisan and workaholic. I don't have nocturnal so I have issues at night. But I just sleep through that.

2 new charging tower (overkill), the charging bonus antenna, 2 fully condensed workspeed (artisan, work slave, serious, nocturnal) orserk and just them 2 keep both at 99 charge 24/7 while I run 6 oil pumps at same time. I make many thousands of oil in 24hrs.

End game content (& oil is endgame atm) is all about breeding specialized pals. it sucks having to work to it but once you get there it pays off.

a goal should always be to make a max condensed base pal for all roles. (as a rank 5 is nearly double the speed of a rank 4)
