Pals in Sakura Island have high damge
I’m not sure if the pals on Sakura Island are bugged in terms of damage or if new pals are being debuted there. My pal and I are taking extremely high damage and are almost always on the verge of death. Even though I'm only fighting a small group of about 3 to 4 pals, and they are below level 50. But when I fight in other islands, even against level 50 pals, my pal and I can combat much longer.

I see that currently, each element has many skills, but a pal only has 3 skill slots, which is too few. Because once a pal uses all 3 skills, they have to wait for the skills to reload before they can use them again, leaving the pal standing idle. Since pals don’t have basic attacks that don’t require skill cooldowns, I hope the development team can balance this issue more reasonably. For example, by adding an extra skill slot or reducing skill cooldowns.

I find the pals in sakura island only get trivial once you hit level 55

The problem is that the damage of pals in Sakura is unusually high compared to pals on other islands despite losing their level. I entered Sakura Island at level 50 and in the beginning I only fought frogs and green mushrooms even though they were under level 50 and the damage they caused was very high compared to the damage pals in the volcano area and snow mountain area. Level 55 is nothing when I can kill 3 knocklem at level 50.

LEvel difference affects the damage you take and deal. So if the pals are higher level, you will take more damage.

My pal and I were of a higher level. I already mentioned that when I stepped onto the new island, I fought with the pals under level 50 there. And now I'm lv55 and my pals are lv54 and still having pals lv50 or below lv50 on sakura island do more damage than on other lv50 islands. I have tested damage on other islands on old version because i usually farming resource. And new version I don’t know what it can change ?

There's a lot of new high level moves with huge areas of effect (e.g. Vixen Noct can spawn FIFTEEN dark tornadoes) or new targeting/multi hit patterns, and the frogs have two of these.

dunno the only time I seem to run into issues is when I get mobbed by bands of roaming pals, particularly on the northern beach. Those insect Pals really have a wide patrol range.

But for the most part I really don't think I'm noticing consistently unusually high damage. from individual Pals. Once in a while I will pull out a Pal and before they can get an attack off they're already half health, I've just attributed that to my uncanny ability to totally ignore the elemental Strengths and weaknesses.

If anything it's the Human NPCs that seem to have unusually high damage to me, coupled with their high rate of using that lunge attack. still manageable but like chill, lol

I think I'm lvl 51 at this point? Maybe 52 or close to it.

I see that each element has many new skills and new effects, but I don't know if they have added a new damage calculation formula for Aoe or single-target skills. I was quite surprised with the amount of damage my pal and I received. On other high level islands I haven't gone there to test the damage again, or maybe the new update changed everything.

I was a little shocked at how hard they were hitting me, but it wasn't outrageous. It was more like oh, that actually hurts oh, please stop that.

Oh btw theres a new trait u can get by breeding called serenity, gives u +10% atk and 30+ reduced cooldown on skills, its extremely useful for pals and helps with that downtime, basically makes u able to shotgun skills that arent the 150 power ones
