You are probably the only person with this problem. Does that strike a cord with you?
you do realise that multiple people have had this problem
I mean, there are multiple people with problems with pants... My comment was me alluding to, that, games on Steam are safe, especially big hits like Palworld.
Didn't think about this until just now, but I hope the steam client isn't loading crap from polyfill.io given the recent news of it having been compromised.. Ah, the joys of web-based crap.

Games on Steam are not safe by default. There have been a few documented cases of malicious users distributing cryptominers and at least two confirmed virus incidents. This isn't one of them, however. Would be nice to know what "virus" is being claimed, though. My money is on a Wacatac false-positive or a heuristic trip.

As someone who also had this problem today (whitelisted), Avast calls it an "IDP:Generic". Whatever that is. Not the first time avast has been a nuisance.

That's a heuristic trip. It literally means the scanner is taking a guess based on vague activity. It's a false positive.

Well, this game has a Japanese developer, with a history on Steam. And there hasn't been any long-winded, jargonic thread, nor articles stating how unsafe the game is. There's just nothing here to give the idea that this game is one big bammy-whammy.
Not to spread FUD, but it could always happen that a dev gets compromised, doesn't realize it, and uploads something compromised. It's always good for there to be at least a few people out there second-guessing and testing if they think something's up. Most of the time it is a false positive, though.

And if that were the case we'd see a LOT more reports rather than one thread with 2-3 people not giving more information.

In truth, well put, and I agree. I would like to apologize to users in the thread, and to all readers.

UPLOAD THE FILE TO

virustotal.com

IT CROSS-CHECKS BETWEEN 50 OTHER ANTI-VIRUS'S AND KEEPS THE RESULTS IN THEIR PUBLIC DATABASE.
Windows defender says this? If you use another anti virus I would just uninstall it. They do nothing for you. Windows defender is all you need.

Better yet, don't use an operating system susceptible to viruses
