Meteorite Event Questions

I've been looking into the meteorite events since I've never seen one yet and all of the information on the internet just says 'it's random' and that's it. If anyone here has experienced it, I wanted to ask some questions that might help out other people trying to get one to spawn as well.

For those who experienced a meteorite event:

- Is your game's options set to allow Raid Events in your world, or is that turned off? Does it matter for this particular event which option this is set to?

- Are you using a fresh, new world/save, or are you using a world/save that existed and was played in before this patch dropped?

- If you've started a new save, was there anything in particular you did before the meteorite event dropped? Or did it genuinely happen at random just while exploring around or goofing off?

- default settings, never change anything
- world is before patch drop
- Butchered some pals and a raid message appeared, but the text is changed to "meteorite event". Checked on map and there is an icon near my base. An alien pal is fighting some gunner around a poop shaped and poop colored stone. I took them down and caught the pal, then butcher it.

-Raids are turned on
-On my "new(ish)" save that I got to lvl 50 about a week before the patch dropped (Day150+) in case that is a factor. Base was ~lvl 15-16 when the event happened also might be a factor?
-Have not started a new save

Might have just gotten lucky but the first thing that happened when I loaded up the world within like 3min was a Meteor. Couple hours later there was a 2nd one.

friends server: raids disabled.

An event happens around every 3 hrs (supply depot or meteor) & I believe meteor only happens in volcano or desert areas (i encountered meteor event when I teleported to the volcano tp on the west coast)

Definitely not just Volcanos, the base It happened at for me was near Petallia. 2nd event was on the new island, not sure if the beach up north counts as a desert biome or not.

loaded the game and got this event within 5mins lmao

The event comes even when base raids are off.
They come between 2-3 hours (I haven't found a setting to change), but it's always a coincidence whether a meteorite or a box comes.
These meteorite/crate events occur on Volcano Island, New Island and Snow Island. I haven't seen it on other islands yet. :3

Raid events off, existing save. Meteorite happened the second I loaded in.

Second save file, it happened about five minutes after loading in.

It starts with a rumbling noise, make sure you have your audio high enough to hear it.

- 500+ days save
- I was travelling through different bases, but funnily enough got a base raid + Meteor event at the same time, lol

Pretty sure they can happen anywhere as I was also at my base but its near the very first tower boss. Raids on for me and pre patch saved world. It also happened for me like within 10mins of logging in after patch.

There are different meteorite events so to speak:
- Ones on he new island
- Ones on the rest of the map

There are pals that you can only get from a meteorite event on the rest of the map which will never show on the new island.
Whenever there is a meteorite event there will be a big sign on your screen saying so.

Actually, this isn't true. I got the big notification for it on one world where it landed right outside my base's walls, but on the other world when it landed near a fast travel point there was no notification at all. Had to go by sound.

I created a new save a day before the patch. Loaded it up after the patch. When gliding with Killamari, instantly got a meteor message and got greeted by pals with a very annoying sound whenever they lumber trees (even if they're really good at it)

they spawn near my bases. supply drops and meteorites share the same spawn only once can be active at a time so remove any supply drops to get meteors if you havent
