The point of Crude Oil?

Why is it that Pal Oil can't be used to create the stuff that needs Crude Oil? What's the difference?

I recon it is something similar like regular oil and olive oil. They are both a kind of oil, but you can't use them the same way.

Endgame progression goal, endgame items, endgame base building concept, it also makes sense as a higher tier resource for some of the endgame weapons. Pal oil is a mid tier resource used for mid tier items.

From what I've been able to see on the tech tree in singleplayer [servers won't load yet for me], crude oil combines with one of the ingots in the electric furnace to make the new top crafting tier: Plasteel [plastic+steel]. It then goes into armor, weapons, new top shields and spheres, etc.

Simply put plasteel most or less most of the stuff from last 5 lvls already have over 2k plasteel its just another time sink mechanic i guess ya know something else to do still better than just getting pal fluid since i just buy the other oil from npc XD
