Fossil Pals
Should we be able to mine for Pal fossils and revive prehistoric Pals through a special machine, like in Pokemon?

It would be pretty funny if getting a fossil would involve building a base on a fossil site so your pals can start excavating.

no let fosils be fosils

That would be neat, another idea would be butchering Pals may turn into a ghost type Pal that you'll have to capture.

Great idea. Though what happens if you butcher that ghost Pal? Do they just turn into Pal Souls?

zombie pals and we should be able to sacrifice them to the island god. evil play through.

Would tie in really well with the history of the game and maybe the desert could become more interesting as a result.

Maybe the machine is also fueled by pal souls?

Add human souls to the mix and you got yourself a deal.

Okay, but amber bugs are how you get Aerodactyls in Pokemon.

Oooh, yesss.
Unlocking the secrets of the past ecosystems of the islands would be an excellent mechanic to introduce pokemon in future updates.
So for fun: first couple generations of fossil pokemon were based on real fossils that you can find in ancient seabeds across the US. Horribly misunderstood versions of them, but still a nice homage nonetheless.

and let the game get more pokemon hate than it already does? no thanks...

What if we don't have fossil pals exactly, but instead we use whatever is found in the fossils and combine them with an existing pal to make a type of hybrid? I know, with 100+ pals this will be a pain for the devs to do, but maybe just a few pals are compatible? Using a non-compatible pal would always give the same result, which would result in an abomination that always look the same. The only difference would be the color and type, based on what element the pal was.
The Grand Mugwump Feb 20, 2024 @ 2:52pm
No. The existing pals are already fossil pals.
