IS THERE PVP IN PALWORLD??

Today I got attacked by a level 7 I enter his base to say hi and he attacked me with a pickaxe his pals on his base attacked me while my bird wasn't attacking at all. I died from the other player pickaxe constantly attacking me. I even went back for my stuff and I was attacked again by the same player this time I was outside his pal box circle. My bird was on aggressive still my bird didn't attack. Is this a glitch? Has this happened to anyone else?

There's currently no PvP in the game.
It's in the plans, it says it on their roadmap but it hasn't been implemented yet.

I don't know why he was able to attack you.
If I had to guess I would say it was a bug or some kind of cheat.
