How can i stop dying?
Every single time i just try to go to the temple, i always pathetically, somehow die so quickly. I just found a lucky Robinquill, but the seed mine killed me in two hits. I have pelt armor with 1269 hp. Whats wrong here?!
And i am just tired of the pathetic grunts you makes. I wish there was a better pm mod :/

Edit: problem solved.

Particularly early, you simply can't afford to tank hits against anything at your level, and even later on you need to be somewhat careful against weaker enemies if there's a lot of them. The arenas featuring fixed (non-dungeon) alpha bosses and the tower bosses have pillars -- use them for cover, especially if you are using a weapon that has a slow reload. Get used to timing dodge rolls as well.

Later on, you'll have an extra defense layer in the form of a shield, will have better armor boosting defense and health, and might improve defense further with e.g. accessories (defense pendant +2 is +30%, for instance) and Pal traits (e.g. each Stronghold Strategist in your squad gives +10%).

Petallia has a companion heal as well. Lyleen is definitely better, but the nice thing about Petallia is she can occasionally be purchased from the blackmarket merchants (so much more obtainable for lower levels). Lyleen is much higher level and needs to be captured, or bred in the breeding farm.
Alright thanks

Use your pals as a human shield, Get better shields by unlocking them using points and then make them at benches also using points that you unlock when leveling up. You unlock these things at certain levels. Catch better pals. Use warm weather and weather clothing when needed especially when starting out. Play on the easy game mode. Try not to take on to many pals at once if you can. Use arrows to fight at higher ground when you have the opportunity to do so. Catch a flying pal like Nitewing every so often at the starting area near the forest ruins with an npc sitting by a cooking pot. If i remember Nitewing should be around lvl 11 and you can unlock his saddle in the technology tab at lvl 15 if you have the recources to make it. Also make sure you have Palballs when you catch him. Once you have him you can fight from above however flying is not always safe especially not against ranged weapons like machine guns and so on.
Thats what i did.

My philosophy is to level my character on catching and killing pals that are lower level than my character. I seldom die and usually get the catch or make the kill.

For instance my level 47 character on a level 42 Shadowbeak was able to kill the level 44 Menasting alpha boss. That is where I'm at, not too high, not too low of a challenge, just about right.

Maybe you are just trying to move too fast in the game? Slow down and do the easy stuff first. You'll get to that lucky eventually.

Or maybe you like the extra risk, but that comes with extra deaths. I like to live on the edge a bit, but not on the dying side of it :steamhappy:
okay, well, how are you going to beat jetragon? You can't go higher than 50.

Well you can cheese just about anything in the game if you have to. I beat jetragon very simply. I lured it to the cliff and it jumped down. It almost died, had low health, and I captured it. There are other ways too, but that is one way (one they might fix by removing fall damage).

Besides, you don't have to be a higher level in this game to beat stuff, just close to their level. As a level 20, don't try to beat jetragon. The main reason you need to be near or at their level is that your pals can only level to as high as your level. So whatever pals you use against a level 50 wild pal, they can also be level 50 only if you are level 50. If you are level 20, they can be as high as level 20. Your level 20 pal will be no match for a level 50 wild pal.

lol, I only asked because that's wat you were suggesting in your initial post, to only fight things that are lower level, even at level 47.

I meant to say not to fight things that are higher level. I fight jetragon when I'm level 50, not before, since pretty sure you can't make the saddle before then anyway. I did beat it at about level 47 though, Had to wait a few days to make the saddle.

lol, no, you def. recommended lower level only. Frostallion saddle is 48, and Jetragon is 50.

I know you said you already figured it out, but pals should be your main source of damage and protection.

Something I see that a lot of people do is they overly rely on a single pal. They fight with it until its borderline dead. People need to get out of that habit. Once your Pal has used 3 skills, switch it to a new Pal, and just rotate so you have a non-stop attack spam while cool downs will reset by the time you get back to your first one.

On this note, people will bring up "suitability", and that's another thing I see ignored a lot. Fruit is all over the place. You can literally teach all pals almost all skills in the game through fruit, and each area tends to have a theme of what element they are. Even if you don't want to bring a pal that is say fire with you, you can have your main team all learn a fire move or two that you can just load for that area while you catch/fight things.

Ya, get over it. I meant not higher, but wrote the wrong thing. You ever do that?
