Base locations and replacing bases, when and where

So I have 2 bases and am about to unlock the third.

Im still on the first "continent"/area and was wondering if people just build 3 bases on a continent until they outlevel the entire area and then move on to building 3 new bases on the new continent?

Or do you go for a 1 base per continent strat even though most stuff there is low level compared to you?

you can build right beside a legendary boss so you can gang up on em

but for the most part just build beside ores cuz you need so much ores

idk why do u need 1 base per continent when u have fast travel? sounds pointless af

im just suggesting non-surface level answers cuz im sure u can figure out easy stuff by urself

also u can use your third base as a permenant fast travel point to do resource mines and just unbuild and rebuild on a new node

and if its still not answered your question, well lets just wait for someone elses answer

probably because the premise was stupid as f. Travel points exist. The levels around the base doesn't matter unless you're afraid of and don't know how to deal with raids. Bases should be built for resources, convenience, flatness, or scenery.

Yes, you build 3 bases per "continent," forming a venn diagram, in time for easter.

Level has very little to do with where you build bases, imo. Island location doesn't matter either, since most of them apart from the Ice and Fire areas will have pretty much the same thing spawning around them, and you can fast travel at any time.

Late game uses a TON of ore. There is a location south of the small ice island with both coal and ore deposits that has been a staple in my resource farming since I found it, so I would recommend travelling in that direction. This is why you got the responses you have gotten, because the focus should be on farming important resources.

When exploring, keep an eye out for locations that have several nodes of resources in one spot. The most useful will be those that have a lot of flat land around them for ease of building, or locations up high that cant be touched by raids. There are very few *perfect* locations, so this should be your focus, not keeping them all to one place. I hope this reply helps you, and any others that are looking for these kinds of answers.

Thanks finally a normal answer, so basically once Im done with a certain area there is no reason to return there?

The only reason I mentioned low level is asking if its even worth it to go back to older areas where there are only mobs way lower than you are. I already know about ore bases etc and didnt ask that nor should people somehow magically decide in their head that is what is being asked when its obviously not the case.

You seriously dont get the difference in talking about "is it worth keeping around an older base in a low level area" or talking about the actual monster levels when the entire topic is about new base placement after being done with the first area?
